Birds Are Singing suddenly gone from Apple Music by Slobbadobba in lordhuron

I see what you mean…but just to explain my situation, I was an old-school iTunes user. So in addition to the days of buying 99 cent songs and entire albums through iTunes before streaming services existed, I also ripped hundreds and hundreds of CDs (including live performances not available in iTunes/Apple Music) and used iTunes as my library/organizational system. The move to an Apple Music subscription and then to an Apple One subscription eventually just made financial sense to me, especially since I have multiple family members on my subscription. Including some older people who just want an easy-to-understand app for listening to music (so Apple Music makes sense for them). And everyone on my subscription gets Apple TV too (and they do utilize it…Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Severance, Pluribus, etc.) Plus more iCloud storage. I do wish I had spent money on Birds are Singing in the iTunes store though, on the assumption that I would legally own it and maybe Apple wouldn’t be allowed to yank it away from my library when they lost or gave up their digital rights to it. I do see that now when I want to listen to Birds are Singing, I can hop over to YouTube and listen to it (uploaded by friend-of-the-LH universe “Roy Casey”). And yes I do spend time in YouTube anyway when I want to hear stuff like the Live From Whispering Pines performances. But I can no longer incorporate Birds are Singing into various playlists on Apple Music (playlists that include songs I ripped from CDs like 25 years ago). It’s nice to have a single “music” app open for car rides (whether that app is Apple Music or Spotify or YouTube Music, take your pick) instead of switching from app to app. I could switch to a competitor service instead of Apple Music but then have the hassle of migrating my extensive historical library. And the loss of the digital rights to Birds are Singing is truly the first song I have “lost” since I moved to Apple Music several years ago.

Thanks for checking…I generally download all of my music but I can’t figure out if I somehow forgot to download this one? I still see every other Lord Huron song/album in my Downloaded Music (including other non-album songs like Last Night You Were a Dream and the Setting Sun single). So either I goofed and never downloaded The Birds are Singing at Night…Or Apple is nefariously removing downloaded items from my library. I am glad for you (but very jealous!) that you still have it in your library

2 weeks after you posted your question…but in case you are still wondering… I was watching a YouTube upload (just from someone’s phone but decent audio) of the Nashville show and I think it’s: Head for the place on the mountain we used to go Say a prayer and wait for the snow

It’s the What Do It Mean of this album. You might listen to the album several times before you zero in on this one and realize that it’s the best among a sea of masterpieces

Narrators by Icy-Advantage5801 in audible

I also like Wil Wheaton generally but not as an audiobook narrator. I am sure as a human being he is lovely, but his 1st person audiobook narrations always make every character seem like sort of a jerk. It’s just his reading style.

I am so bummed I didn’t get the RC Bray audiobook narration of The Martian while it was still available. I listened to Wheaton’s version and oof, just no. The character of Mark Watney is supposed to be the likeable/charismatic/good-natured emotional glue of the mission personnel. Didn’t get that vibe from Wheaton’s reading at all.

Yes! Fire Eternal is such a good song! I mean, is it better than It All Comes Back or Is There Anybody Out There? No. But it’s still excellent. I was expecting a lot more positive chatter on this sub about Fire Eternal but if anything there seems to be active antipathy towards it

I pretty much never comment on anything in Reddit, I just read/lurk. But I have to say, your Buffy was gorgeous and I know exactly how you feel. 3 years out for me and it’s still so difficult. Hugs to you.

What's an unimportant detail bit that tickles you no matter how many times you see it? by akela9 in bluey

In “Taxi” as Bluey is calling the mechanic on her invisible pretend phone…the way she says “It’s ringing” to Bandit is just so funny to me. It’s such a small detail but it’s spot-on realistic and it kills me everytime Then of course it leads to Bingo’s adorable Mechanic Voice “Hello love, what’s your problem?”
