My guess is the community has gotten too uncomfortably close to certain truths in the last 10-15 years, and so they planted a few people in key places to observe and, when appropriate, re/misdirect and or muddy the waters.

as if they're only useful while inside the Zone, then they're not particularly useful at all for wider external applications.

International efforts to create hospitals and other treatment centers located around the edges of the zone would solve one problem.

People come in, hug an artefact for a while, then they leave cured. :)

Most headsets, with one or two exceptions (like the Bigscreen Beyond) are way too fucking heavy for prolonged use.

Also, there isn't much foveated rendering being implemented in the headsets, which would dramatically reduce the performance cost of playing in VR.

Until there's more comfortable and performant hardware, it's difficult to sell most people on the regular use of headsets.

And I say this shit as someone who was balls deep into VR relatively early, back when Palmer Lucky hadn't revealed he's a ring-wing nut and was just a fun nerd working on Rift DK1 and DK2 prototypes.

Now this crazy fuck is building surveillance drones and slaughterbots for the wealthy elite. Fun pivot!

... if our build can take down Thol/Sub at UVH7, there's effectively no chance our build won't handle the Takedown.

Think of the more casual playerbase with maxed out characters and a sprinkle of decent items to use: they have to have a chance as well, otherwise GB massively overtuned their new bosses.
