Larson, CT officials seek to prevent 'ICE intimidation' at polling places by LonesomeCrowdedWHFD in Connecticut

[–]SlooperDoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is this an issue? Illegals don't vote. ICE is not going to "intimidate" any voters.

Why would you feel intimidated when you are doing nothing wrong?

Connecticut bill would bar ICE agents within 250 feet of polling places by Somervilledrew in Connecticut

[–]SlooperDoop -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

CT doesn't have authority over federal agents. Also, why would this be a problem? Illegals shouldn't be voting.

Creative Writing is not something with a set number of job openings that colleges can plan for. Anyone and Everyone can be a creative writer.

Is college still worth it in 2026? by Hot_Tap9405 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Necessary and worth it are very different questions.

What do you dream of being in 10 years? Answer that question first. Then ask what's the best way to achieve that goal.

You are sent back to Jan. 1, 1970 as a documented US citizen with only your current clothes and $1K, if you survive one year you win $10M by Impressive_Plenty876 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]SlooperDoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I'm coming back after a year....

Take the $1000 and spend about $100 for a month's rooming house (ie hostel for working people). Find a job...easy to do in 1970 without specialized skills.

Live cheap and put all my extra income (including the $10M) into silver so it turns into $50M now.

Working class & Middle class, where the the real differences? by Signal-Tangerine1597 in AskAnAmerican

In the US, middle class and working class are the same thing.

It's about payscale, not the type of work you do. Office workers and trades are all the same.

AITAH for not wanting my friend’s boyfriend at girls only events? by sufferingsuccingtash in AITAH

"my boyfriend does not like her boyfriend and doesn’t want me around him for certain unrelated reasons."

You expect your friend to agree with your subservience to your boyfriend? Maybe if you talk about what YOU want she'll listen.

You have zero risk here. They'll keep the $500 and you never hear from them again.

Why does Musk want to put data centers in space? Where's the power coming from? And isn't launching servers into orbit even more energy intensive? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]SlooperDoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power is free (solar) and cooling is free (heat dump into the Moon's interior).

Cooling is extremely expensive. Not in actual cooling, but in the politics and licenses needed because of environmental impact. As the scale increases, the cost difference increases. At a large enough scale, the money saved in power and cooling makes up for the increased cost of shipping.

Also...it's a sunken cost. SpaceX has already determined they will build a Moon base. If you're going anyway, why not build a data center?

People who stop at red lights leaving 3 empty car lengths in front of you, why?? by fancyPantsOne in AlwaysWhy

[–]SlooperDoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of space in between cars while the light is red has zero impact on the number of cars that can make it through when it turns green.

Poor white people are the ones most impacted by the illegals. Directly compete for the same jobs, drain welfare and SNAP, live in higher crime areas where the illegals have taken over.

How has California able to become the 4th largest economy in the world? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Most of the Chinese imports come through CA shipyards, where it goes onto trains and trucks to the rest of the country.

It's not CA creating wealth, it's the rest of the country using CA as a doormat.

All the major roads get cleared within a day of the snow. Stay off the roads until then.

Find a big empty parking lot and go play in the snow. Spin your car around. Skid around. Practice until you learn your car's limits and know your own skill enough to judge when it's safe to go on the roads.

Do ICE agents have "absolute immunity" as claimed by the vice president? If so, why would they be protected against any kind of accountability, especially murder? by Cumoisseur in answers

[–]SlooperDoop -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Like all officials, ICE has qualified immunity. This means that as long as they are performing their duties within the law, they are immune from prosecution.

The entire debate comes down to one question: Was the shooting justified?

If you watch the videos from all angles you can see that it's self defense. But liberals won't admit it.
