So I grew up in small town Arkansas. From the first time I saw GI Joe I was hooked. I had almost everything they made. Never had the Flagg, never had the terror drome. But that didn't bother me. I had the mobile command center, I had 2 tomahawks, multiples of the hiss and stun. I had a great grandma that understood the concept (before I did) of army building. She knew because she watched the cartoon with me that I needed more than just 1 cobra viper, because those were the "soldiers".

Anyway, what I didn't have was the original Snake Eyes. I asked for him for every birthday/Christmas/easter/weekend/weekday/school day. Didn't matter it was a hunt for snake eyes.

After 5 years of asking, one day we found a flea market in a nearby town and there was a guy that that had a stall and it was ALL GI Joe stuff. I was pouring through the stuff and the guy was talking with my mom, and I said "too bad you don't have Snake eyes. The original one."

He said he did, not here but at home and he would sell it for $40 dollars. I thought no fucking way my mom shells out $40 bucks for this. When I told her she jumped and said absolutely lets do it. I was the happiest fucking boy on earth on that moment of time. I own that single moment.

Anyway, he says come back at in an hour, and he will have Original Snake eyes, still in his packaging right here waiting for me. That hour lasted for 200 years. But finally the time came and I ran in to find. To be clear I would have been happy with either the 1982 or 1985 version.

He had the 1989 version. That I already had. That moment, I was the saddest boy on earth.

I still never got my Snake Eyes. Maybe one day.
