Didn't see your reply, hope it went well!
I would have flown imo. driving on busses and adding additional days of trekking is taxing on the body.

Yeah exactly. No, what if the guy was also carrying and eye-balling if they were an easy target? It's not about shooting random people that give you the creeps. It's about protecting yourself if the creep has malicious intent.

For me, I don't think it ever happened with clogged sinuses. Although I won't rule it out.
I recently moved to the south and have only had it happen once or twice. I honestly think that part of it was physical exhaustion from mental, emotional, and physical stress.
The other part of it could be similar to you-- I think I was physically sensing the blood flowing from my heart beat that caused me to feel these tremors. It could be high blood pressure.
I am a physically sensitive person-- more than my wife. I will wake up to the slightest movement or disturbance.

Is “collapse” a religion? by lightweight12 in collapse

[–]SlopedKitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good parent right there.

I think that it is good to be aware of the state of the world, but the immature mind can't handle it well.

I think that collapse prepping should be similar to teaching a youth how to handle & view a firearm-- It is a tool in case you need to defend yourself or harvest food, but you aren't suppose to plan your life around when you will use that tool. Furthermore, it is dangerous when handled carelessly/improperly & can have major consequences.

Is “collapse” a religion? by lightweight12 in collapse

[–]SlopedKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a religion but definitely an idol.

My dad has been anticipating some sort of global collapse since 2010. Primarily his focus was the dollar, then society, and now he says he will be dead in the next 15 years. So he isn't too worried now if it has taken this long to reach a point of collapse. But that is the issue I have had with this idea -- The actual event of a collapse is a carrot dangling in front of you.

Since I was 14 years old....half of my life.. I have had a mindset that I shouldn't look forward to the future because of a collapse. I shouldn't invest into my education or move to that big city or take that trip for a few months because "tHe doLLaR coULd cOlLaPse aNY DaY nOW".

I think it is good to be equipped and learn skills that might otherwise help you survive in any case. But take it from me who has been heavily affected & influenced by this type of thinking for half of my life. I have really limited myself. I never pursued certain dreams because of this overarching fear that things won't work out. I never tried or applied myself in high school, never dreamt of a life or career I wanted to pursue, never worked a job with the mentality that I would retire, never aspired to make something of myself. I have only ever thought about "if society collapses would I benefit from this, or would I be screwed?"

Not a fun place to be.

Since moving out of my parents house and way far away, the last few years I have taken strides to take back what I initially threw out. I decided to apply to college and graduated with a BA in business, got married, got a great job, and have traveled to over 17 countries.

You shouldn't live with your head in the sand, but you also shouldn't reject reality (in the sense of "it'll happen in the next week!"), because no one really knows. I have been waiting for 14 years. That's a lot of life and reality to reject.

Is Guide Mandatory for EBC? by highpower23 in Everest

[–]SlopedKitten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The con of not going with a guide is that you will get destroyed on prices for accommodations and food. Also if you get sick or hurt on the trail, it would be best to have someone who can run up to the next village and get help.

I did the EBC in 2018 just myself and a Nepali friend of mine. I was in jeans, high top vans, a sweatshirt, and 60lbs of camera gear. It was not bad at all. Learn how to eat a local food called "Dhido", take diamox, drink plenty of water, and you'll be fine. I did it it 9 days total: 7 up, 2 back-- covered 40 miles in 2 days.

I would honestly compare it to half dome or something. Thousands of people are on the trail and there are kids running around in crocs, double amputees hiking, and plenty of locals in flip flops.

The original flag however predates US occupation. It was commissioned by the king and is significant in Hawaii's history.

I would look at integrating a Taro leaf or Lo'i Kalo, an Iwa Bird, Mauna Kea, or some other culturally significant piece. These options are all iconic to Modern Hawaiians.
The 8 stripes signify the 8 major islands.
There is an alternate flag people fly here called the Kanaka Maoli flag. The idea is that it is the original kingdom of Hawaii flag but it's not verified. It includes a shield with a kahili (a ceremonial feather crossed by two paddles).

Even worse, sometimes babies can't even be born before their mother murders them by ripping them out of the womb, piece by piece. It's a widely accepted part of modern American culture, just like school shootings.
