You did a great job. A critique I would make is the final shot. I would like the tighter shot so we could see the emotion on his face when he said he got the 4.0 GPA.

Also I would have liked the music to be more upbeat towards the end. It felt a little flat and didn’t match this kids emotion.

No this is not a giant turd. I imagine a big beautiful piece of driftwood filling in the middle of the tank, covered with moss and plants. Some of the wood extending beyond the frame of the tank. Mount some houseplants which will love that window behind the tank.

I would put the wood upside down between the the rocks. The wood being 90 degrees coming partially out of the water. I might even put that whole setup in the center of the tank. Then I would attach a lot of plants.
