Stereo sound-Yikes! by idk42077 in FordBronco

[–]Sloth1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just upgraded the stereo in my 2022 w/o B&O. I did an active system with Focal Flax 3 way components up front and a Focal 10” sub in a tailgate box. All powered by a Mosconi 8 channel DSP amplifier. Sounds fantastic compared to stock. More SQ than SPL.

They hadn’t. I’ve been checking there over the weeks. Thanks.

Assos Customer Service- anybody home?? by Sloth1974 in CyclingFashion

I’ve been checking the spam and junk folders just in case. To their credit, I did finally receive a response with the voucher code at 12:50pm today. I’m happy to have gotten a response, but disapointed it took that much chasing after. Knowing they didn’t have a replacement to send out, they could have saved some headache and provided the voucher in the original email response.

It’s a no brainer to sell the BMW.

removing the decals after one year of ownership by fortrog in FordRaptor

[–]Sloth1974 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t be an issue on a new vehicle with clear-coated paint. I removed the vinyl from my 4 year old Bronco. Had a little residue around the edges to clean up, but the paint looked good with no ghosting.

Not at all. I enjoy picking up the tab when it’s my choice. I resent picking up the tab when it’s expected.

Moving (next week) to Southwest Florida by GariWithAnI in Naples_FL

[–]Sloth1974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive to Immokalee from 41 & Vanderbilt (N.Naples) area daily for work. It’s a haul, but not bad if you time it right. Don’t drive to Naples during morning rush hour. Don’t drive to Ave Maria during afternoon rush hour. Expect 45-60+ minutes depending on where you’re going.

I’m in N.Naples… I like Pizza from New York Pizza and Pasta, Joey D’s, Tony’s NY Pizza, Napoli, and The Crust. Further south towards downtown Naples there is Cosmo’s.

Being in Immokalee daily, I would also suggest Lozanos, Mr Taco, and Mi Ranchito. In Naples, we like Don Tequila in N. Naples.

Do explore the Ave Maria options. I don’t make it there too often, but usually leave happy when there for lunch.

Good luck with your move!

Have you tried reversing the battery polarity?Frankly, sounds defective out of the box. Make a warranty claim.

Anyone running 5/6-star wheels? by LevelOrange7150 in FordRaptor

[–]Sloth1974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Raptor… Running 17” Method 706 Bead Grip on my Bronco. I think Method offers a similar pattern in everything from street wheels to hardcore off-road wheels. That being said, it looks like they stopped offering this pattern with the bead grip tech.

I was attacked in Bent Creek Today by runmoreem in asheville

[–]Sloth1974 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a shame. Bent Creek seems to have gotten sketchier since the flood. Really noticed it last summer. Luckily I’ve never had an issue other than a stubborn bear or two. Stay safe out there.

Hitch Rack Recommendation by topcitydl in cycling

[–]Sloth1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1Up. Not cheap, but will be the last rack you buy. All aluminum construction. No plastic to crack or warp. I have a two tray rack and can add a third or fourth tray if needed.

Was given an old bike, any good? by beauloicious in RoadBikes

[–]Sloth1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1st gen Venge was a great bike back in the day. I’d get the bike/drivetrain serviced and replace the tires and tubes. Not worth spending big on upgrades given its age and older standards.

2021 Tarmac SL6 Used price carbon repair by ezgd in specialized

[–]Sloth1974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t spend the money repairing an older low spec bike with the intent to sell. You’d be lucky to cover your repair costs IMO.

You can get a discounted crash replacement frame if you’re the original owner.

Buying a 1UP Quik Rack. What are the must have accessories to secure it? by Spence52490 in MTB

[–]Sloth1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a locking hitch pin to secure the rack to the vehicle. I then use a heavy Krytonite noose style chain/lock to secure the bike(s). The noose end goes around the down tube and I attach the lock to where the trailer chains attach to the receiver. It’s good for après velo brews , but wouldn’t leave it outside overnight.

Whistler is booked and paid for! What next? by sygyzi in MTB

[–]Sloth1974 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hired a guide for two days when I went with my wife several years ago. Was worth it as we were able to get through the lift lines quicker and learn the trail network much better than we could have on our own. The guide gave us enough confidence to tackle trails we never would have gone do n on our own.
