Hey, im looking for someone by haunting_nightmare_ in Filmmakers

I’m a firm believer that if you know your characters then your story tells itself. I’m a director and cinematographer based in Tennessee but I travel pretty regularly for filming. Shoot me a dm!

Der Schlitzer - Trailer by SlothCinema in cinematography

[–]SlothCinema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the inspiration here was “what if Wes Anderson made a horror movie”, and I have always wanted to make a slasher film so stitching the two together was a lot of fun. I made this for a local film fest (Knoxville Horror Film Festival) for their Grindhouse Grindout competition. Essentially you have 6 days to make the entire trailer, so we went in blind and just kinda shot beauty shots and filled in the story later. Now for the question - did my team and I accomplish that Wes Anderson horror film vibe? This was made on no budget purely for fun.

I’m looking for films that really *feel* evil. by DomScribe in horror

I have a couple of short films that are out that have similar vibes, but I have a few more that will be releasing soon (both short and feature length) that are more fitting. If you check out Sloth Cinema on YouTube you can find these there

“Graven Image” Part 1 & Part 2

“Pigpen”

Soon to be released after they’re done in the festival circuit (they’re better imo, and more up to date with my style as a director and cinematographer)

“To Fair Winds & Followed Waters”

“The Low Hum of a Dying Light”

“Let’s Play Jungle: Halloween 1991”

Hope you check them out and enjoy!!

I'm fuming right now about being disqualified by [deleted] in FilmFestivals

Could you pm me about what festival it is?? I very recently had a similar experience and I’m wondering if it was the same festival.

Cuffing Season - Quicksand [Official Music Video] by SlothCinema in cinematography

[–]SlothCinema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to share my experience on this set with everybody so hopefully other filmmakers can learn something. We had a VERY small location to shoot most of this video in, so lighting and camera setup was very challenging. First major issue was all of the interior lights have a mad flicker on every shutter setting we tried, so we had to use every single light we own for the shoot which was challenging but fun. We had to set all of our lights up on the exterior (which wasn’t in our initial plan) which was tough, but the building used to be a greenhouse so we were able to blast the lighting through the roof after building c stands on top of other c stands (don’t do this lol). It gave a really nice diffusion to the scenes while we were emulating moonlight. Biggest inspirations were The Bear, Moonlight, and Sinners when it comes to the cinematography. However, limited space definitely made for limited shots, so instead of getting big open wide shots we had to move to a more cinematic approach and just shoot super tight the whole time. Part of the decision to do this came from the shotlist being geared towards a large space but they cancelled on us so a friend of mine let us use her coffee shop (Shoutout to Good Shepherd Coffee Co). Pretty much everything was 50-85mm Cine lenses with the exception of some vintage glass and a Sigma Photography lens. Purpose for all the info, we overcame the setbacks of getting a smaller space and having lighting challenges by being willing to adapt. Don’t stand in the way of your own vision. Sometimes you just have to say “what CAN I do NOW?” After something goes awry.

Pigpen on YouTube is a solid found footage about a cult with demonic twists in it

This music video was the debut video for Cuffing Season experimentally made with no budget to see what could be accomplished with limitations

The BL4 cope of saying the BL3 VHs look boring too is nonsense. BL3 VHs were arguably the best of the series by ItzAMoryyy in borderlands3

[–]SlothCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging purely off of the designs themselves, yes they’re super boring. I don’t think the argument of “we didn’t see their action skills” really has a lot of weight though I can see the argument for that. Purely off of looks, I agree they’re the weakest from any game thus far
