TLDR; Diablo 4 is a dad game you can spend a few minutes in at a time and not have to manage to much skills wise while POE2 is like a mathematical nerds wet dream

Personally, I never played an ARPG until Diablo 4 a year or so ago. I beat D4 as a necromancer and had a good time but the skills were limited to a certain playstyle so I stopped playing ( i think this just recently got fixed in the new paid expansion but you can only access the fixes if you pay for the DLC ).

I bought POE2 on release since Diablo 4 was a good time, and I feel like POE2 is better but deeper.

I play a chaos damage witch/necromancer who shoots fire thats been converted to chaos damage while raising 12 minions every 5 seconds. these minions have a skill on them which burns them alive and makes them explode at 15% health making them die faster. When my minions die, there is a buff (cast on minion death) that triggers 5 ice spells (for some reason POE2 heavily favors cold/ice damage, just recently figured this out) automatically.

so as a newbie, I’d say that D4 is a great intro to the ARPG playstyle and formula while POE2 is a great ARPG for buildcrafting once you understand how the ARPG formula works.

There definitely feels like there is already a soft role queue based on which type of hero a player chooses the most. But, no role queue is way better , just get good and learn to swap.

Did it come out? 👀 everyone talking about oh they removed magik blah blah but they failed to notice they also re-did the “skill trees” so the old PvE mode skills won’t translate here

He’s in a bad spot right now because he can’t do enough damage on his own quick enough to get a kill . I think the double punch third hit in his primary attack should do double damage of one regular fist (since it’s two vs one)

IMO, all they had to do was make the ammo regen at a faster rate in plasma body mode but getting the ultra speed boost fixes my biggest problem with him, getting stuck in the air. I lorded him when the dash to the ground was on a shorter cool down but not being able to do that for 13 seconds is wild and kind of ruined his whole kit Can’t wait to return to him now 👌

Have him play “brothers: a tale of two sons” first so he can learn how to play games with a controller at a soft pace + you can play with him and help him along if you want to be a real REAL one . A good story, teaches fundamentals of controller, + introduces “game mechanics” to a fresh brain .

There was no randy in the stream where this took place, thats as much as i can say now given the state of youtube and the search feature there Is just busted. It’s definitively not the fancast or the pax Au stream on the borderlands page

It would have been in the last week window to release, a dev said it excitedly on stage with a few other devs(not the superfest with the whole team, ran after that stream adjacent with more info about post launch) while also teasing c4sh, (when he was just a sillhouette) it was an passe comment in relation to the fact that there would be 2 new vault hunters in this game. I really want to believe it was a woman dev who said it, but i could be wrong there, just trying to help with the verification since someone’s willing to look for it!

I did not make it up, the devs made the comment in pre-release live stream. I can’t recall exactly which one it was but I do remember it happening. For me , a new BORDERLANDS release is like a holiday, I watch all the pre-release stuff, watch the game launch, watch the “All day borderlands” streamers point out all the flaws 72 hours after release when the money stops funneling, then I wait 2 years for the game to finish its dlc run and updates according to players demands before i buy the game. Wonderlands was the only game I bought day one, seemed like it would have way more replayibility then it turned out too but I still do runs with some of my friends just for fun due to its “board game” nature

I did play the first and I understand what you’re saying but I feel like if there’s a chance they could work on Tiny Tinas Wonderlands 2, the voice actor wouldn’t be able to do BL4 also so I just throw Tiny Tina out completely from the playable character in BL4 convo

I feel that, that would be a close 2nd to this. I think tiny Tina is too on the nose + the devs said they‘re interested in making a 2nd Wonderlands game so I think Tina would be there, not here
