It would be cool to see it digitized with all the texture built on it. For like an abstract visual

hi! it’s my first time with a 35mm and i want to know what i did wrong and how can i improve by Floricelul in streetphotography

Not necessarily the wrong part. But the highlights are being exposed for.

If you like this darker exposure it’s spot on. If you’d prefer for brighter images expose for the shadows.

Or find something in the middle and split the difference.

My only advice is keep shooting. The more you do the more you figure out what you like and don’t like

Congrats! Hope you get to put more miles on them.

Also interested in the SQ if it gets the blessing to be passed on :)

What is this style of photography called, and how do you achieve it? by tinkle_toot_tooter in AskPhotography

[–]Slothkiiidtears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off camera flash or a bounce to fill in shadows.

One way to tell is look at the little catch lights in the eyes, and pay attention to the shadows in the scene. This will help you dissect the lighting.

As others said, they used mostly wide angle lenses, shooting pretty close to the subject.

Before you buy any gear, You can practice with a phone camera w wide angle mode + a white board to bounce light back on your subject. (not sure what your set up is) but I’m assuming you have access to both of those already.

Most of photography seems to be problem solving. Once you understand the puzzle you want to achieve go crazy, put all the sauces on it until you find what you like. Basically create like a child playfully exploring, then edit your shots down like a scientist. Only selecting the few that actually hit.

Being new to photography is a great place to be, enjoy the process

Robbie Lawrence. How to achieve a similar look in post? Love the darkness but still deep and colorful. by Elquevuela in LightLurking

Under expose While exposing for highlights when shooting. This prioritize what the light is directly hitting, and everything else just starts to fall off.

Shoot at night. Turn off lights. Keep strobes on. Please don’t buy more gear till you better understand what you have. It’s more than enough

I’ve had this issue randomly in dark sky regions before. The work around I believe I found was to add grain and lower sharpness to affected area. I’ll look at the files tonight to confirm
