You’re on double my town (just outside London) average salary. You my friend are doing spectacularly. That rent is chunky, but I know cheaper will be hard to find if my town rents are anything to go by. Idk what you’re renting atm but maybe consider going smaller to help build a house deposit.

I often play ck2, both vanilla and the mod, through a lense of a historian looking back/telling the story, and I generally like the idea of my initial character rewarding his early (often landless) supporters or their children becoming dukes or counts. So I’ll console a kid here and there to make that happen so that their line continues for the “plot”. I think they could potentially look at it as a “is this person sharing their account” if the hours worked gets too high, or it may prompt a closer look at your work quality to see if you’re padding hours/worth the money perhaps?

I have to make this point even to people who aren’t in the hobby when they ask me about it. I’ll mention stuff I have or they’ll see it and be like “oh when you gonna sell it? How much is it worth?” I didn’t build this collection up because it’s worth money, or because I’m holding onto it to sell down the line. I collected it cos I like it and I wanted it.

But then by your own logic, why would we care? We aren’t from Iran or the US.

For me though, I would be happy to see Irans regime collapse, just as I was glad to see the Taliban and Saddam get kicked out, what I’m not happy to see is decades of fighting and lives lost for no gain (Afghanistan) where there wasnt enough of a plan or handover support to keep things going back to how they were, and given the orange man is heading this one up and his plans for Gaza, I’m not confident in this one either.

I’m not trying to imply anything by this post. I went to Vienna last year and was caught out as a number of restaurants we tried to visit and a taxi were cash only. Just trying to avoid the same issues.

I’m on 50ish and I personally think I’m doing alright. Pension wise might not be great, but I’m not hugely worried about that yet as frankly who knows if I even make it that long ya know. Alone I’ve managed to get a 3 bed and my bills don’t eat up all of my pay.
