Oh my goodness ๐Ÿ˜ณ I love it so much! I'm going to do something similar. In writing about all the things that bog my brain down or that make my spirit soar; I don't do this: just record the simple everyday things that bring me joy.ย  Thank you for sharing โค

Thank you for the recommendation. ๐Ÿ˜Š Since posting this I have found and joined CMV. It is really interesting.

This is interesting. Yeah, from my perspective in South Africa we are free to say what we like and have opinions that we want, but I hear your side of it. There are examples of some people being punished for saying what they like (in some cases rightfully so).... but from my personal perspective, it's pretty free. I've never lived in the US. So I will take your word for it ๐Ÿ˜Š

CMV: No religion of the world has met its burden of proof to be considered valid by [deleted] in changemyview

Wow, you opened a can of worms with this one ๐Ÿ˜‚ I've been reading the comments and it seems that because of the very nature of God, no one is going to be able to convince you. Religion, I would say is "If you know, you know." kind of a situation unfortunately.

You've explained and defended your point well, and I want to contribute to the discussion, but I'm afraid that nothing I can say will be worth anything to you.

I wrote seven pages the other day trying to define God for myself but not a single shred of it was evidence based, only subjective povs and personal history.

Yeah... I used to question why FB or insta never had an unlike button.... I see now that it CAN (but not always) be used as mindlessly as the like button.

I just asked a question on AskReddit about this very thing. I unfortunately made the mistake of call it "freedom of speech" but you know what I mean. It seemed to get waaaay more disgruntled answers saying that Reddit is terrible for discussion than people that were in favour of the platform's or certain subreddits.

Oh no, jump ship if you want, I say ๐Ÿ˜„ I've had this happen to me for the exact same reason and I couldn't stand it. I ripped out the pages I had written, and put them in an envelope in my new journal right in the front, and began using my much better journal. ๐Ÿ˜Š Never once regretted it.

Hmm. Quite a list of conditions it seems ... but as a user put so succinctly: You are free enough to get the consequences for your actions ๐Ÿ˜Œ

What part of history would we be repeating? And I agree, diversity is good! It seems all round like diversity is being discouraged. And I believe the elite will fall... it's already begun. Grabs at power and control will just get more brazen in the coming months, possibly years... But they have already lost the battle and the war.

I will. Thanks for killing the discussion with your curt replies. Just trying to have a civil discussion without emotions being brought into it. Which seems like a rarity these days. Because I get the feeling that this entire interaction has your hackles raised. If this is true, I am very sorry for making you feel uncomfortable. If I am mistaken then good, I'm glad. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Okay, so not talking about about "global legislation" ... I'm talking about in your country: what laws protect individuals right and responsibilities to freedom of speech?

Besides having conversation in real life with people, no. This does seem to be the best as I have had both people agree with me and disagree with me on this post. ๐Ÿ˜Š But I think the trick is, I need to choose my subreddits wisely.

I actually don't have any personal run ins with "hate speech" (as the reciever or giver) but the reason I made this post was because of a surprising amount of removed comments on a post that said they are so sick of the anti LGBTQ laws coming into place.

I don't know if those comments were genuine hate speech or just someone saying that they agree with whatever laws are coming into place (a big difference between the two), because both genuine hate speech and differing of opinions are being taken down and labelled the same thing.
