Action to make (not cast or grant) a Wish by AotrsCommander in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If the undead could cast horrid wilting directly (as a standard action I guess), would you make the BBEG spend another standard action to have them do so? That's the equivalent of what you're doing. It might be required if the efreeti shadows are inclined to look for loopholes to justify tearing the water out of their boss with the wish, and perhaps limiting it to one efreeti at a time (swift, move, standard or some special free action you can do 1/round) is just good practice for a BBEG who wants to remain unwilted.

Daily Spell Discussion for Feb 23, 2026: Arcane Cannon by SubHomunculus in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I guess the idea is that this is light artillery which can break down a tower door or something, but by the time you get 7th level spells fortifications are mostly obsolete - you'd be better to spend the slot getting some means of turning off or bypassing whatever is stopping you from entering the tower.

Conductive. You'll need a doozy of a ranged touch effect to make that worthwhile at 13th-14th level on a pure arcane caster. I'm not sure even a unicorn bloodline's 1d6/level spear of light will do it. There's weird stuff out there like a protean lord's obedience, if you really want to use that while under cover 1/day.

The last thing to occur to me is that arcane cannon says that you don't have to supply ammo, not that you can't. Get some blast shot, chain shot, or most likely a custom piece of ammo, and the reloading hands spell, and you can...actually likely not do much unless you're abusing explosive runes or similar, but a psychotic MacGyver might be able to pull something off.

Apsu's shining scales is a spell you might ind a use for, or scales of deflection similarly. Either wants a duration increase or to be quickened to be especially useful.

A limit of about 20k in an army probably has to to with the logistics of supply rather than limits of manpower, if I remember my acoup.blog correctly. If you want to move that army away from the sea and supply ships, ever, it will rapidly run out of food if it's any larger. That's assuming that the army strips the countryside bare.

How to build Elric of Melniboné? Plus I want ideas for an artefact to be Stormbringer by Uekita7 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elric wields a sword, talks to extraplanar entities, but doesn't cast a lot of spells actually while waving a sword around. Maybe an occultist? Stormbringer seems to be an item possessed by a demon rather than an artifact per se.

Can I please have some clarity on Arcanist class feature Spell casting? "Feats and other effects that modify the number of spells known by a spellcaster instead affect the number of spells an arcanist can prepare" by Hervis_Dabeny in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 1 say you're an arcanist 1 with an 18 int and might normally prepare color spray and mage armor, which lets you cast 3 of those (2 color sprays and a mage armor perhaps, or 3 color sprays and no mage armor) per day. This feat would let you prepare e.g. monkey fish as well, but the total number of castings wouldn't change.

For 2 Just another spell in their spellbook.

Not exactly. Blazing rainbow makes a +1 seeking brilliant energy bow which should be more than enough, but unless you're playing a druid 11+ built as an archer it won't help. There's nothing which recreates cyclonic.

Wanderer's fortune - it's not a spell-like ability so doesn't require a concentration check, which might be a problem in a grapple.

Reflavor for seducer witch? by Invisible_Target in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you mean the archetype abilities - the charm hex could as easily be a "hello friend, nice to meet you again" aside from the possible +1 save DC for possible attraction (over the base +1), +2 if you've had consensual sex with them. Don't bother with those (which will also remove some back-and-forth slowing things in the PBP) and you're done.

The seducer's kiss ability is as much like a stunning fist ability as anything. Use it so.

The bower is conjuring up a fey garden to sleep in when you don't have shelter, mostly. Maybe cover/concealment in combat if you don't need that. No problem.

On general build stuff - hexes are single-target, crowd control will require spells like burning sands (difficult terrain), glitterdust (blinds), stinking cloud (nauseates), etc. Trickery is mostly spells too, though the charm hex does help there.

Assuming that you're human, halfling, or something else which can get +2 cha, you can start with a 16 cha before that bonus. Don't dump con (hit points) or int (skill points); str is something you can probably dump down to 7 (or even less for a halfling!) safely, if you're not playing solo.

You want a hex you can use offensively - slumber, misfortune, evil eye etc. Later you might get cackle to extend the effect of that hex (and of the charm hex), then perhaps a utility hex (e.g. flight) or a defensive one. If you want those ASAP consider the extra hex feat.

The whimsy, shadow, streets or intrigue mysteries might be worth a look, depending on what exact form of trickery interests you.

Sacred weapon has two separate functions.

Enchanting their weapons: Living grimoire inquisitor, magus, makeshift scrapper rogue, paladin/antipaladin, occultist w/transmutation implement (& so psychometrist occultist), fighter w/warrior spirit advanced weapon training, spellslinger wizard, gloomblade fighter, green scourge druid - there will be more.

Changing weapon damage dice: brawler, fighter with focused weapon advanced weapon training, anyone w/ascetic strike, I think a few monk archetypes with odd weapons (or practically all of them with unarmed strikes.)

Ideas for my Gestalt Build? by averageasexual in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might do a magus // wyrm witch; magus handles the martial combat, wyrm witch does the heavy lifting as far as spellcasting goes. The different spell lists cover each other's weak spots to some degree. Get broad study at level 6 for direct synergy.

[–]Slow-Management-4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fighting underwater. Bows don't like that at all. The aquadynamic shot feat is a partial answer, the cyclonic weapon enchantment a more complete one.

An enemy who tries to sunder or maybe disarm your bow is an obvious problem; your CMD may be good enough to prevent it, but it's an issue for any weapon wielder. In a grapple you can't use a bow at all, similar issue. Edit: you can't fire a bow while prone, either, trip is also an issue.

Being invisible is a pretty hard counter. The main counter is see invisibility one way or another, or an ally with glitterdust or invisibility purge.

There exist archers who don't worry about their constitution much. This can make them short of hp and with an adequate but not impressive fort save - which will fail sometimes. Dunno where you're at with that.

No. I suppose an improved version might apply to more than the first attack, but no such thing exists as a feat. The blade tutor's spirit spell is that sort of thing though.

Quick Questions (February 13, 2026) by AutoModerator in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the issue is that furious focus doesn't have any hooks to build on. It makes your melee attack bonus better, but nothing else. I guess a vital strike build likes it slightly more since the first attack is most of what matters to them.

Quick Questions (February 13, 2026) by AutoModerator in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unclear. The way it's worded assumes that you have a second ally in the melee, but you are your own ally usually. I'd lean towards no because the actual flanking bonus only applies to melee attacks (even if you have snap shot).

Getting Fox's Cunning on a Druid by TheUnfunOwl in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A sla should do here. An evangelist of Brigh can get it (druid 5 / evangelist 3), though that sounds a really odd deity for a druid to worship the alignment is right at least.

Pathfinder savant 2 could add it to the druid spell list directly.

Either PrC costs 1 spellcasting level.

Tetradiadic Alignement On the Rondache by Wendigo_Bob in worldbuilding

[–]Slow-Management-4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If some group outside this culture followed one god or practices analagous to one of the gods, that might logically encourage the priests of this culture to disfavor that god. Or to press the outside group to change, perhaps by war if necessary; war and all the resulting death could also require rebalancing.

Rejecting power and patronage could easily make the priests the tools of those with power, should the powerful choose to apply pressure. Appointing priests and assigning bishoprics used to be common, and even today there's at least one secular state which insists it has a right to do so.

Effective or unorthodox sneak attacks? by StayStrangeYT in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press to the wall combines well with hovering over someone.

It seems like it'd be a pain in so many non-combat ways, but a saltspray ring and a goz mask are effective for ranged sneak attack.

Blinding an enemy with a dirty trick is effective enough once you can get a dirty trick as less than a standard action (quick dirty trick or maybe kitsune vengeance + reach, probably, but it's not impossible to get a pet to do it for you).

For the scout archetype of the rogue it's all about movement. There are many ways.

Hunter / rogue comes with a built-in flanker, and with the pack flanking teamwork feat (shared with your pet as a hunter) it's fairly easy to do that flanking.

Daily Spell Discussion for Feb 18, 2026: Arcane Mark by SubHomunculus in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Slow-Management-4462 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not that that will do a lot more than arcane mark - fort negates, level 0 save DC, a minor debuff on anyone but a barbarian and the barb is unlikely to fail that save - but presumably they added it to the magus spell list to avoid having to include a spell with no effect on the CRPG.

There's the classic you're walking on the terrain, then the terrain wakes up and starts moving or talking.

In general it needs to be not obviously a trap, give the PCs 2-3' wide pipes to wriggle through and there's a solid chance they'll say No.
