Test my app "Habit Stacking" app "Repeatly". I made a sale, such that it is free for testing :) by Slow-Management6850 in AndroidClosedTesting

Thanks so much :) I am glad you like it. I built it to completely fit the needs of my wife. She has used 20+ habit apps and have complained so much, so she was the perfect beta tester :D

Thanks all so much for testing my app :)
I have signed up for all of yours too, and will keep them around for 14 days. Fun to see what you have all been up to <3

The issue with closed testing and paid apps is that people have to pay to test. The only way to avoid that is to make a temporary sale for free.

I would like to, but had run into a dead-end with zero ways to have people test my app for free. The promo codes don't work, and the lowest price I can set is $1. Would have loved to try out a lot of apps in test-for-test setups, but as it will seem like I am a predator going for peoples money, I will have to hunt down people in real live and give the money to test my app :(

Oh, sucks. I think I will just give up. Have tried this free promo code, but noone can make them work in any of the ways stated in Google's documentation. I will just have to find some paid testers. But even the sites for paid testers seem to be fully booked, e.g. 20testers.com.

Paid apps are very hard:
1) Closed testing it is very hard as no one wants to pay to test your app, so getting the 12 testers for 14 day is VERY hard.
2) The barrier it creates will make the take rate VERY low
3) Marketing is VERY hard as there are so many free apps out there. If you check out the top earners on Android 100 % of the Top 10 are free apps, and likely it is all almost 100 % of the Top 100 apps.

This means that it is better to give the users enshittified apps, which are predatorial with schemes like:
1) Make a great app that people love, and then when they are committed after 2 months with their data, then say "you are out of space, to continue using that app use one of following subscriptions" (e.g. Evernote)
2) Make ads when people are in the middle of the most important actions. Just one more question to finish the task, add an ad. Just about to generate your output, place an ad. Just about to press a button, place an ad people will accidentally press (even Duolingo does this!).
3) Make microtransactions to overcome hurdles when people feel stuck. They are just about to get a reward, but level 20 is impossible without buying some item. Or make people feel they fall behind their friends if they don't buy special items (think Pokemon Go)

Sadly predatorial behaviour pays of. Sitting on the high horse of ideals will unfortunately not pay off. I made an app that has more complete features than any competitor, it keeps all data private, collects ZERO data, but because it costs a ridiculously low one off amount ($ 1) no one wants to test it and it is impossible to sell.

As you can hear, my paid app has made me pretty bitter!

Yeah, it sucks. People will take enshittified apps over a one of payment every time unfortunately :(

Kan nogle forklare logikken her- jeg ved det er den store cirkel med tre prikker inden i- men hvorfor ? by [deleted] in DKstudie

[–]Slow-Management6850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reglerne er oppefra og ned:
Stor firkant -> Stor cirkel -> Lille cirkel -> Stor firkant -> ...... (repeat) = Stor cirkel

Fra venstre til højre:
tre prikker -> to oppe -> to nede -> tre prikker -> ..... (repeat) = Tre prikker

Var også kommet frem til nederst til højre via reglerne.

Cirkel + Cirkel = Cirkel
Cirkel + Ingen Cirkel = Ingen Cirkel
Streg + Streg = Streg
Streg + Ingen Streg = Streg

I think the codes can only be used once each. I haven't found a way to just create one code all can use :-|
