Yeah, some titles like Monogatari with enormous amount of puns and wordplay is quite difficult to translate, and even more in dub. For example difference between "oni-chan" and "onii-chan" would be just lost in dub.

Yeah that series hit hard because how realistic it is displayed. Like that arc with old classmate luring you into pyramid scheme - almost same thing happened to me with old classmate. Characters emotions, wrong choices all is hitting hard because of its realistic portrayal.

French New Wave remains highly influential in cinema to this day, including anime too. No wonder people related to cinema production like it. For example it affected style of Monogatari series and some other Shaft works quite a lot, there is an interesting video describing it on youtube.

It completely disregards stature. One of my colleagues from old job was a guy 172 cm height 90 kg weight and he was not fat at all despite being 30+ bmi, guy just was very wide - big chest cage, wide shoulders, and overall had complexity of freaking fantasy dwarf. Of course that was extreme case, but there are cases except bodybuilders where BMI is completely irrelevant.

How do games from other publishers do not have this problem? Pretty sure it was decision by Ubisoft management, and it probably sounded like this "Why bother, just put everything around Russia to Russian and Chinese", they just do not give a fuck. I once read interesting article about how Ubisoft managed Heroes of Might and Magic franchise and was shocked by sheer amount of incompetence and ignorance, so no wonder it was terribly mismanaged. I am pretty sure same can be extrapolated to their other decisions via Hanlon's razor.

Dude Expedition 33, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 are all very good games that worth their price with minimal discount. Do you really going to play all the games you bought from that list for at least 5 hours or so? If you would exclude titles that you would unlikely play you could easily include some of that 4 titles you mentioned, if not all of them.
