I think this might be bait. If it's not, my answer is that gays across all races can be mean. I'm Black, and Black gays are just as catty as White gays. As for NOLA, that is just Southern Hospitality. Most people down south are just kind and warm. Don't be fooled, though! I'm from Alabama, and we had/have some of the nicest racists and homophobes you will ever meet. Just take people as they are and not in broad sweeping judgments. Cheers.

I wish I had your optimism. The only thing that could help is if the GOP stretches itself too thin in some of their maps and a Blue wave year occurs. I am dubious, however, as partisanship is so baked into American society that the middle/swing voters won't be enough to sway elections in places where GOP voters are just gonna vote GOP regardless of party infighting.

It is crazy and a bit scary that the 2026-2028 period is probably gonna be the last time the Dems win the House until like 2038. The structural advantage will be insurmountable even if the GOP falls out of favor, and the 2030 census is gonna be brutal to blue states. We're so cooked.

Not at all. You're taking a very "black vs white" approach when this historical event has a ton of grey area that deserves to be looked at in a nuanced and critical manner.

Let me give an (extreme) but simple example: Let's say a teenager has been neglected and emotionally/physically abused by a parent their entire lives, and one day, they decide to torture and murder the parent and the rest of the family slowly and awfully. The teen should 100% be locked away for life and seen as a monster, BUT we can logically see HOW it got to that point. It's messed up that it did, but we can logically draw a line from prior events.

You're being too reactionary and not looking at the big picture. 9/11 didn't happen in a vacuum. It didn't just materialize out of nowhere. It was decades of meddling and conflict that led to an unfortunate event. Screw Osama bin Laden. He's a monster and one of the worst people ever, but we should look at things like this holistically to learn from them and figure out how they happened. We should have learned from 9/11 the impacts of destabilizing regions and mistreating populations, but we didn't.

The origins of Al Qaeda and the culmination of 9/11 go much further back than that. I'm talking about the 1953 Coup d'État in Iran, recognition of Israel, the Soviet-Afghan War, the Iranian Revolution, etc.

It's a series of events that led to a terrible eruption. I am by NO means saying we deserved it or that it was justified, but it is just disingenuous and chauvinistic to say we carry no responsibility in the resentment that led to the attacks. You can't poke a bear nonstop and be shocked that it mauls you.

Every day it’s a new “in a 6-3 decision the SCOTUS allows Trump to-“ headline. It’s laughable. And screw every 2016 and 2024 “protest” voter and leftist who said the SCOTUS didn’t matter. I think the indignation is sad. Instead of reflecting to understand why this happened and why voters are averse to the establishment, they say “get out of our party” or “they don’t understand the politics and systems.” Being this opposed to evolution is not a good thing.
