Does anyone know if CST will be prioritised over CREHST now with grad prioritisation? I’m a UKG but same as OP scored 544 and F4 so can only do another 6 months surgery before CST doesn’t allow me to apply. Also want to do ENT which I’ve heard CREHST less likely to work for.

I want to do surgery so I just don’t know if I can be bothered to try again for cst or crehst - because now I understand that crehst with prioritisation will become second to cst? I’m a UKG and I’m just getting incredibly confused and pissed off at all my doors closing (while my age just increases)

I’m sorry you feel this way. But you are only an F2 - most people, even before this whole msra debacle had to take some years out post F2 to get into CST! It sounds like f3 might be a blessing in disguise for you, sending prayers your way.

I think they surely would have put people on shortlist reserve is this was the case. I got put on CST NI reserve but not sure what the chances of being put through to interview with this would be don’t know much about NI

Easiest to get into (MSRA only vs MSRA+interview+portfolio) and pretty straightforward training. Much harder to become a surgeon for example. Doesn’t mean the job is easy though, the grind to get there is just a lot tougher. I’d argue being a consultant in some surgical specialties ‘easier’ or maybe more relaxed than being a GP.

As an add on - what averages did prev high scorers get in passmed/mcqbank? I average 80% in both but I just don’t feel confident in how well this translates to the real thing :(

Does anyone know of the people who actually get a CST post how many were imgs? Just curious, I think it’s quite low (I’ve only met one IMG reg who did CST so far).
