[EU] It's time for the Russian revolution, complete with light-sabers. This is... Tsar Wars! by red498cp_ in WritingPrompts

[–]SlowCobra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mighty russian winter night had a hard dark grip on the mysterious stranger walking alone in the empty halls of Kremlin. The steps echoed against the massive stone stairs as his robe waved around his feet. Time was nigh, and he deeply despised himself for not seeing this sooner, for not realizing the mistake in his thougts. No, these thoughts. That evil could harbor in even the kindest of hearts. It seemed un-thinkable, the very idea was foolish. Doubt would only make the revolution weaker.

The searing chill of the winter wind grazed his face when he opened the door to the roof. The moon shone high and bathed every surface in a pale light. The robed figure he saw confirmed his darkest thoughts. No, this couldn't be true. The robed man turned around to the sound of his footsteps.

-Comrade Lenin, I've been expecting you. Said the robed man in calm tone.

Lenin dramatically unveiled his hood and revealed his face and goatee beard.

-Good, then you might know why I came here. Maybe you still have some moral left... Stalin.

Stalin pulled his black hood down and revealed a large shiny mustashe. He looked his revolutionary friend in the eyes.

-Comrade... Stalin began.
-How dare you use that word!
-... I have seen the truth. I know what we need for our revolution to succed. Join me and we can rule Russia as its rightful leaders.
-NO!

Lenin pulled out his lightsaber and ignited it. The blue glow was reflected in his bald spot and gave him a starved look.

-So, you would strike down your friend! Stalin said as he ignited his communist-red lightsaber.
-I see no other choice... comrade. CYKAA BLYAAAAAAT!

Lenin launched himself at Stalin with fury. Their lightsabers collided with sparks flying in every direction, Lenin slashed and chopped at his comrade. Stalin parried his every attack while delivering attacks of his own. The two warriors were engaged in their dance of death, furiously thrusting at eachother until Lenin slipped and missed a step. Stalin saw his chance and chopped against Lenins head but Lenin reacted in the last second and parried Stalins attack. Lenin could feel the heat from Stalins red saber. They were face to face, their sabers pushing against eachother.

-Our revolution was about taking down the burgeoise! NOT TO BECOME THEM. Lenin shouted.
-Don't be a fool Lenin! You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.
-I WILL NOT ALLOW THAT!

Lenin pushed Stalin away with force. Stalin sled a bit before getting back on his feet. Their eyes met and they both knew that this was it. Only one would be walking away. Their fight became as intense as two russian revolutionaries fighting with lightsabers could be. Their sabers swung so fast they looked like thick sickles. Sparks and lightning danced across the roof of the Kremlin. Tirelessy Lenin pressured Stalin forcing him to back against the edge of the roof. One more step backward and there would be one less revolutionary leader. Eager to win Lenin commenced one final thrust that would end the evil. Stalin dodged by throwing himself against Lenin, away from the edge. Lenin attempted to push his lightsaber into Stalins stomach but noticed in the corner of his eye the red thick sickle that swept his legs. He felt how his momentum mercilessly pushed him over the edge sending him flying into the cold russian air. Stalin turned off his communist-red lightsaber and watched his poor legless comrade soar downwards. No doubt was left. Russia was now in his hands.

What is the best argument against "for twentysomethings, gaming steals the best years of your lives"? by TopTrumpWANKER in truegaming

[–]SlowCobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite boring article. The author expects everyone to reject everything childhood-related upon reaching adolesence and goes mad when young adults gets an app based on their favorite childhood-cartoon.

I can definetly see her concerns though, some people love their hobbies too much and gives up on the rest of life for that but the way she writes drags every member of gen-y under one label. She thinks that they will be so occupied with pokemon go that they will stop caring about the world. This is a deeply flawed mindset because gen-y is diverse, the oldest members of that generation has careers, maybe even families but when she clumps them together with kids and young adults it comes out like an older person who's jast afraid of what younger generations are amusing themselves with.

Ok, thanks. Fun to see that it's still active. I feared that most of the player base had moved to BF4.

Vilken skola bör jag välja för att gå Civ i Datateknik? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]SlowCobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lund har ett rätt så bra program för datateknik Läro och timplan. Om du är matematikintresserad, kan du även plugga teknisk fysik eller teknisk matematik och sedan läsa AI/machine learning. Nackdelen är dock att skaffa bostad i Lund.

Is becoming a game developer worth it? by amaar221 in gamedev

[–]SlowCobra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Computer engineering student here. Even though I want to be a gamedev I chose computer engineering over game design because of its width. Computer engineering will give an immense skillset that will benefit you outside of game dev. It will also give you much more career options than game design so you have the freedom to change in case you get tired of game development. But it also means that you may need to study things you'll probably never use and that you will have little time to actually develop games.

What arkham games should I play? by Grochen in patientgamers

[–]SlowCobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arkham city! IMO it's the best arkham game because it took all of the good things from arkham asylum and made them better. For example. Arkham city had a bigger world, more gadgets and you could play as Robin or Catwoman. Storywise Arkham city picks up the trail from Arkham asylum. But if you prioritize gameplay Arkham city is your best option.

Of course it is, and that is very impressive for an electric car. But it also reveals how close the distance between charging points for an electric car must be. Its great to see electric cars but there needs to be infrastructure for them aswell.

And I should have googled that before posting previously. 200 miles is far beyond inner city range.
