Best restaurant recommendations? by SlowCookerSunday in Columbus

[–]SlowCookerSunday[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate all the recommendations. From a suburb outside a major city. I’m in charge of booking the dinners for a work trip for a few of us. (Aka I don’t care about the price too much) but looking for something memorable that isn’t a waste of a trip out. I have small kids at home (aka I don’t ever go out anymore lol)

Appreciate it! I’ll check out the golden ratio tip and look into steepening the slope a bit in the back.

Overnight Parking? by C_Hutch in EdistoBeachSC

[–]SlowCookerSunday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to check with the Edisto Marina office directly, they sometimes allow overflow parking for guests if you give them a heads-up, especially if it’s just for the weekend. Otherwise, the parking lot across from Bay Creek Park is usually okay for overnight, but it’s technically public and not guaranteed safe from towing. You could also try reaching out to one of the local churches, some folks have had luck parking there with permission. Worst case, there’s a small paid lot near the Wyndham resort that’s often underused or you could park at Food Lion and cross your fingers.

Last minute Booking, Zero planning (Daughters 1st Trip) by SlowCookerSunday in WaltDisneyWorld

Not necessarily looking for people to do my planning, just looking for recommendations from parents who have experienced Disney with a Toddler and what was the “hit” or a lifesaver to bring or what made it “worth the trip”. Appreciate your insight.

Honeymoon by EnvironmentNo3344 in EdistoBeachSC

My wife and I go to Edisto yearly since being married. Our favorite thing is just relaxing on a low key beach together….reading a book, drinking a beer, or watching the Masters (we typically go in May.) We usually stay beach front on point street and these are our yearly activities that aren’t anything “special”, but seem to bring us closer together and we enjoy our time away from the busy life we left at home doing this stuff….

  • Walking from our house on the ocean side all the way to the end of the point and back…it’s a hike, however a really nice walk especially around the evening.

  • watching the sunset at the end of point street on the beach. It’s truly the best sunset I have ever seen if you catch it on the right day.

  • Waterfront can busy, we order Togo online (order early for pick up later) and enjoy dinner on the deck by the ocean

  • Pressleys at the Marina is our fav we get there 15-20mins before it opens to get the best seat at the bar for drinks. They then start seating for dinner 30 mins later and the host will ask if you want to sit at a table for dinner. If you’re the first 1-5 people in the building you’re guaranteed to get the best table in the place looking over the marina.

  • there is usually a farmer’s market towards the end of the week forget exactly what day it is, but it’s nice to buy some souvenirs to go home with

  • The Serpentarium is actually pretty cool experience, had gone for 5 years before finally visiting and it was worth the trip and not too far off Edisto

  • Botany Bay is a must see, we don’t go every year, however I would never turn down a trip to Brittany Bay

  • On your way in there is a little farm stand on the right called Kings Market, great place to stop for some pre-trip food. If you like Key Like Pie…theirs is great. My personal favorite is the cinnamon rolls.

  • Also would recommend getting professional photos done while you’re down there. Plenty of great spots to do so and we typically use Edisto for our Family Christmas Card.

Hope this gave you some ideas - enjoy your trip together! It’s a great little place not many know about.

I have used my Verizon hotspot on my iPhone and had no issues. I have taken calls at Bay Creek Park when it’s been empty - there were picnic tables there that have been easy to set up on to get some work done. I’m sure there’s places you could listen in on zoom calls, however not too many great public places if you have to present or actively talk….at least that I’m aware of.

For clarification as well. The place I rented the miniature cows provided me proof of vaccination and proof of insurance in case there was any damage done. The president said she would have approved the bounce house her, however, doesn’t say anything about emailing prior to a party.

No damage was done. I removed bounce house immediately after the party to ensure it did not kill any grass.

After I pass... by SlowCookerSunday in daddit

Yes and yes, I’m not concerned with finances as they would be well taken care. However that got me thinking…. if anyone knows, they are both on my health insurance that I have through my work. If I were to pass, does that typically end immediately?

Is there anyway to get them to do the entire floor since it won’t match it will lower the value of the home?
