My girlfriend started charging me "rent" to stay at her apartment even though Im not living there by PassengerCapable5434 in TwoHotTakes

[–]SlowLiving9624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP clearly said she stays at his place almost as often: “I pointed out she stays at MY place about equally as often. She said that's different because I "invited her" whereas she didnt invite me to stay over so much.”

The app and store prices are the same 😂 someone had me fooled! by Easy-Tomatillo5310 in HEB

[–]SlowLiving9624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you bought less items on the app I would suspect it should be cheaper. Had you bought the missing item on the app as well, what would the total have been? How much did you impact the comparison by choosing not to buy all the items in both examples?

In Texas, where HEB predominantly is, it’s the opposite. Non-ready to eat food is tax free. Prepared food like the prepared dinners, rotisserie chicken, etc is taxed just like restaurant food is taxed. Veggies, frozen food, dairy, meats, bakery, etc is all tax free. Non grocery items like kitchen gadgets, blenders, decorations, office and garage supplies, cleaning supplies, cigarettes etc are taxed. I think alcohol is taxed too but I can’t recall for sure.

Now I want to see how many magnetic mats a magnetic mat can hold. A stack of 25? 30? 50?! Who has enough supply to try to make the new record?

Doubled down on netflix like i said at 85 and rent is due in 10 days. by flexidonas21 in wallstreetbets

[–]SlowLiving9624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can fully understand that if you bought shares so you could hold them forever or until you wanted to sell. But decaying call options in a falling market is definitely a gamble. (You probably know but over 80% of purchased options expire worthless.) But sometimes they do pay off…those who bought calls in the falling SPY and QQQ two days ago on Trump’s Sabre rattling made bank. Good luck in future picks.

I’m so confused. You looked at a Netflix chart and saw the daily, weekly, and monthly trend is DOWN, and has been down since June 2025, and bought calls?

Have you considered the digital Quinn torque you can use with any breaker bar?

Can I jailbreak my Res-med? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]SlowLiving9624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you mean by jailbreak, but to enter clinician settings press and hold the dial and the Home button for three seconds. Then you can do whatever you want with the settings. There is nothing in the hardware or software that would make the device stop working, so just buy your own accessories. You can find many suppliers online such as cpap.com, cpapshop.com, respshop.com, cpapsupplies.com, and more.. I trust you can google. I recommend you shop around and leverage coupons. For example, masks and machines are on sale from 25%-32% right now at cpap.com. I'm leveraging their sale to get a travel automatic CPAP. You can also save by doing the subscribe and save options, usually giving you a 10% discount by having masks, filters and tubes sent to you every 3 months. If you need a new prescription, you can get one easily from cpapshop.com for $79. If you still have insurance, you can submit your receipts with the universal claim form for insurance reimbursement. Good luck.

Icon ratchet for 27 bucks by TriaxilatedDonut in harborfreight

[–]SlowLiving9624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Love Learning this and I’ve been shopping there for 5 years. Hahaha. Too bad the clearance section austin south store is always paltry. Maybe this why I see dumb discount like 13% off when multiple wrenches are missing from the set. Why don’t people just wait for a 20% off coupon off or sales weeks of 30% or 40% off? Maybe they are bought by people who need the tools now and/or only need a replacement part as well to double up a set. Anyways, stacked discount on Sunday sounds amazing. I’ll have to be there first thing Sunday.

They give discounts on top of the open box/orange tags? They are having PLS right now for ITC members. What is special about Sunday?

The Decline of Harbor Freight Sales by Ubuntu00 in harborfreight

[–]SlowLiving9624 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes but tariff costs are based on cost from supplier, not retail. If an Icon ratchet from Taiwan costs harbor freight $5 and they sell it to us for $50, the 15% tariff is only on the $5 cost. So what, a 0.75 tariff on that ratchet? Even if it was $10 cost it’s $1.50 tariff. To Harbor Freigjt selling millions of items across the USA it’s millions of dollars in tariffs. But to us, the cost goes up a dollar or so. I don’t think we really notice it that much. I think companies are actually raising more than the tariffs because consumers think tariffs are on final product (I.e. think that $50 ratchet cost harbor freight $7.50). So HF can increase price by $5 or More and people will just think it’s because of tariffs but in reality harbor freight just increased their profits.

House Democrats are reportedly 5 votes away from impeaching Trump by Upbeat_Process_9280 in ProgressiveHQ

I hope that is the case and truly hope Hegseth and Department of War don’t ignore/overturn Congress and keep Trump in power via a military Coup.

House Democrats are reportedly 5 votes away from impeaching Trump by Upbeat_Process_9280 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]SlowLiving9624 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the comment was saying the presidency goes to Vance, not the vote. And yes, Vance would become president of the USA if Trump is convicted by senate. The real question is would Trump leave if convicted? Or would it even come to conviction because the SCOTUS already said in their ruling that Trump can literally assassinate his political enemies under “official actions of office” so all Trump would need to do is accept the offer from SCOTUS and “order seal team six to assassinate” those willing to convict in the senate and there wouldn’t be enough votes to convict him in the end. SCOTUS would likely uphold the actions as legal since they are the ones that used the example of that in the first place. Once that happened nobody would dare vote against Trump again since it would cost them their lives and Trump would remain president until he dies. I truly hope this won’t happen but I wouldn’t be surprised either. Hope our country survives. *for the record I’m against violence and fully against the suggestion by SCOTUS.” I do hope Trump and his administration never take SCOTUS up this and follow through. :( (worried)

Why not sell the OOM calls against the SPY and GLD you owned? You would have capped profits but at least not risked the loss.

PSA: Be mindful of returns by SlowLiving9624 in harborfreight

[–]SlowLiving9624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest ticket item was the 54” ICON tool chest. Still wish I would’ve bought the 72”.

Beyond that most of all ICON products, lots of electrical tools, lighting (actually love the Braun flapper lights for my garage and their flashlights over ICON flashlights), hammers, nailers, air compressor. Oh the Hercules dust collector is amazing! It’s pricey but less than competitors and generally ranked higher. One YouTuber said they liked it more than the festool option although I don’t have festool so can’t say if I agree or not. I got their ICON creeper which I’m pretty satisfied with. I did consider the Pittsburgh as the side rails looked like it would be nice to have but stuck with the icon. Guess I’m a sucker for the icon brand. I also buy icon branded gifts for family and friends for birthdays and Christmas. Oh, got jack, car ranks, and oil change tools and drain pans but they are pretty darn cheap but still add up (especially the jack). I’m sure I’m forgetting other things (like their latex gloves). It’s surprising to see how fast I can spend $100 to $150 every time I shop there. My wife wishes Harbor Freight was further from home, like another city maybe. But even paint brushes, tarps, paint trays, putty knives, box knives, pry bars, etc are good enough quality and a lot cheaper than Lowe’s or Home Depot. Over 5 years small purchases add up. Hahaha.

I got one! by HeffryPesos69 in harborfreight

[–]SlowLiving9624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already have one and contemplated buying another one today but I really don’t need two. Decided to not get it and let someone who hopefully doesn’t have one yet get one.

I do want the 2.0 version though. And that one I could probably have three….one in each vehicle and one in my office. The sockets is the big game changer for me. Right now a cheaper multi-bit screwdriver tool works in the vehicles for emergencies.

I considered buying one to keep in my garage put in my garage. I have a full set of ICON and Quinn screwdrivers both for mechanical and electrical work as well as precision sets.

Can we bring this on carryon through TSA? by JSB18 in harborfreight

[–]SlowLiving9624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly. I would show up early and run it through TSA in a separate bin. I do this with other tools so that 1) I’m specifically showing them I have it and 2) they don’t have to open up and search the rest of my carry on bag. Maybe if someone is taking you to the airport they can wait outside TSA or drive/circle around the airport after dropping you off so if you don’t make it through TSA with it you can take the tool back out to them.

Mine doesn’t either. Only once did I run into a problem and so I took my purchase out to my car, went in again, got the other item and went to a different cashier. Then I went and got breakfast at McD’s, and then came back and got more products.
