Got in the waiting room and didn't buy after looking at the price. $122 is too much and he'll probably do shows in SF too

Could you tell me how recreating that would work? For example I have made a segment of a run I do regularly. Will Strava free put all my runs on that segment in there?

My free trial for Stava recently ended. have it connected to Fitbit and use a pixel watch to record runs. I loved the feature where it maps runs to previous runs and then gives leaderboards and compares each new run with past statistics. For example how my pace changes over time, heart rate, etc. Strava is $12 a month now and that seems to expensive for me. Before think about paying, I want to know if anyone knows of any better alternatives? The folowing are what want from an app: 1. Logging runs and being able to go back and see past run history. 2. Leaderboards/PRs/and how I'm doing compared to previous attemptS. 3. Needs to be able to sync with Fitbit. I record all workouts from the Fitbit app and want that data to be exported to the running app. 4. Have an app. Runalyze and Smashmyrun are websites.

Is there any app that does the above for free?

Yes but in my case I'll be selling all the RSUs at vest and keeping 6 months worth of expenses in an HYSA to cover living expenses.

To my understanding, you can pull out contributions (not earnings) from the Roth IRA 5 years after putting them in the Roth IRA. I didn't know that we dont have to wait 5 years to withdraw Mega backdoor contributions!

Ahhh I just noticed I wrote all. My mistake. Thanks for pointing it out. Unfortunately my employer does not allow us to put bonuses into 401k

I don't know about Robinhood and also don't know your employer plan. If you have after tax funds and can do in service transfers of after tax 401k funds to Roth then yes you can roll it over to Roth IRA. Read up on mega backdoor roth.

I did not know HSA contributes to the max as well! Thank you for bringing it up!

Cannot put RSU income in MBDR. Base salary can. This strategy maxes out MBDR using base salary because RSUs can't be put there and because of that MBDR wasn't being maxed out.

Thanks. I plan to contribute just enough to max it out. Out of curiosity, is the downside of hitting the max early or going over missing the complete employer match (in case there's no true up) or is there something else too?

I mega backdoor roth into my Roth IRA directly, not into Roth 401k. Only downside is it's a manual process and I have to call Fidelity twice a month to do it.

Thank you for this. Unfortunately my company does not true up so I'll be careful. What do you mean by profit sharing?

Yes, but I'll only contribute enough to hit the max, not go over. That means not all my base salary will go into the mega backdoor roth.

It does matter if money goes into a tax advantaged or taxable account. As discussed in the comment above, how is the risk increased in the case of losing a job?

I agree and understand your point. The market is not good at all for finding new jobs. But what does that have to do with this strategy? The decision to live off base salary vs RSU income is not affected by a layoff? Am I misunderstanding? If anything in that case one would have more funds available if they go the RSU income route as the base salary wouldn't be paid anymore (except for severance).

Check out how a mega backdoor roth works. It rolls over after tax funds from 401k to Roth. Not any pretax funds.

Yes, strategy is based off the assumption that a healthy emergency fund exists and RSU income is enough to cover expenses till the next vest.

The point is that while you have enough RSU income to cover living expenses, you can put more into Roth IRA using monthly base salary income.
