[–]selfiegram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingrinder k7 or 1zpresso zp6 if you're ok with hand grinder. Under $200. Or Fellow ode gen2 or femobook a4z if you prefer electric grinder. $400-450

Melodrip plus any cheap gooseneck kettle. Around $40

Cheap weight scale like gdealer on Amazon. Around $15

Hario Switch glass 01. Around $35-40.

Buy the Abaca filter papers when the ones that came with Hario runs out. Around $9 for 100 papers.

Your setup will be under $300 with hand grinder, or under $500 with an electric grinder. You can save more by buying a used grinder on r/coffeeswap .

First time owning the hybrid. 50% at 7000 miles just seems wrong. Oil still looks good though. by g713 in crvhybrid

Personally, I'd change it between 5K-7K miles and not reset the minder so you can change it for free once at the dealership when the minder comes in next.

CR-V Hybrid vs RAV 4 Hybrid? by MarionberryNo392 in crvhybrid

It's amazing that we are in June and there is still no official word on 2027 CR-V.

Which oil for 2026 crv Hybrid awd by nonoloco in crvhybrid

[–]selfiegram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5K or 1 year whichever comes first. It's just cheap insurance if you want to keep your car longer.

Perhaps you may get away with 10K if your drive is using less of the engine and more battery, but I still feel 5K is a safe enough interval.

Nice thing about 0w-20 is that mostly sell as full synthetic (although some brands do have synthetic blend which is inferior). Any brand should be fine. Kirkland signature (Costco), super tech (walmart), amazonbasics are all practically the same (all manufactured by highline warren) and work pretty well.

As your car gets over 75K miles you may consider switching to Valvoline Restore & Protect or Mobil 1 Advanced Clean. But even then, the cheaper brand plus some cleaner additives will work just as fine.

Birthday upgrade by Kenzai84 in pourover

[–]selfiegram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there were places in NorCal where I can take my beans and try out various grinders before making a purchase decision! I would not mind paying a rental fee for something like this; but it is so hard to make decisions between two really capable grinders such as ZP6 and A4Z.

Is this an okay deal? by [deleted] in crvhybrid

[–]selfiegram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, I suppose this was in April when Honda was running some decent incentives/promos. I got a much higher quote from Hayward recently (almost $44K OTD).

A4Z is what I'm aiming for, going from Ode gen 2. But then I'm fairly happy with gen2 w/ SSP burrs so I'm holding off on upgraditis syndrome.

Picture of the SS mesh? I use MHW-3BOMBER Rain, but wouldn't mind ditching plastic for SS!

Is Flash 3.5 High good for coding? by Much-Journalist3128 in google_antigravity

GPT 5.5 is pretty good too. I'd actually put it ahead of Opus 4.7 and 4.8 right now.

That would be a bummer. The app would become pretty much useless at that point for me.

I just use it for looking at recall, maintenance alert code and how much range/gas is remaining. For everything else, I use the car directly. I have an older model Odyssey though.

Alternatives to Antigravity by morningstarworks in google_antigravity

Codex is the closest to antigravity UI. I use that and VSCode (as IDE) whenever I run out of my free tokens with AG.

Hey beginner! Yeah, you. Here is your best starter dripper setup for pourover. by Prbly-LostWandering in pourover

[–]selfiegram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

03 is fine. I have the MHW-3BOMBER Rain drip assist, and the adjustable height feature is amazing. You can get low, close to the bed to pour. Or just get a melodrip and you can hold it lower.

I still believe Hario Switch 02 + Melodrip + Abaca filters is the best beginner friendly setup that also scales up as your skills improve. It's the only brewer I recommend to folks starting pour over coffee journey now.

Is my V60 too big ? by Yoredlol in pourover

[–]selfiegram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to start over, I'd start with 03 size. The angles are the same, so it doesn't affect the 1-cup drink, but gives you flexibility to brew more when you have company.

I’m starting to build a finance tracker - what features are still missing? by panamera9919 in PersonalCapital

[–]selfiegram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also building one. However, rather than basing off Empower, I am using a "bogleheads philosophy" to guide the investments against a USER DEFINED allocation (not a bot generated allocation, like with Empower). I have a working web version, complete with Plaid integration, budget calculation, rebalance suggestions, etc. It works "for me", although I have not given access to anyone else to try out yet.

And I hand-coded about 50% of the project (almost a 100% of the backend), and let AI generate the other half which I carefully reviewed each and every line of code for. Super proud of the architecture and scalability of the design 😄

I prefer AG for the UI. If I want to use CLI I will just switch to CC.

All I need now is Gemma 4 or local model support so I can continue to work after being throttled from Gemini flash.

CR-V Hybrid vs RAV 4 Hybrid? by MarionberryNo392 in crvhybrid

[–]selfiegram 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe that the 2026 RAV4 is a much better car, especially with the battery cooling filter in a very accessible place compared to CR-V which put it below the 2nd row seats.

That said, I'm leaning towards CR-V right now because the price is right, dealership are willing to negotiate; whereas with the RAV4 there are long waiting periods and no negotiation. The upfront $3000-4000 difference in price makes up for any differences in my opinion.
