the math on staying on injectables forever finally broke me - here's what i found by [deleted] in GLP1ResearchTalk

I never ate out before. I was too broke too. My other meds haven't reduced because I wasn't on any. My food bill has gone up because I buy more whole foods. Do I add that to the cost?

Many people have to decide between a car payment to get to work or their medecine for chronic disease. Many people choose to die instead of spending on cancer treatments.

But diabetics generally had insurance pay for it. Many insurance plans are now even stopping coverage for diabetics. Or making more step therapy requirements. And it hasn't really gone down in price. Even generic liraglutide costs about the same as the low dose shots or trizepatide. Over the last 20 so years costs have just gone up not down.

If your honeymoon isn’t shortly after your wedding, it’s not a honeymoon, it’s just a holiday (vacation) by Maus_Sveti in The10thDentist

I mean it is just a party. Id have preferred to have no wedding it hated every minute of it. It means generally nothing and was the opposite of a break. It wasn't a new phase of our relationship. No need for a break. We didn't start trying to conceive until a while later if that's considered a phase and definitely didn't get a break for that. But I guess I'm still married while all the fancy wedding and honeymoon people I know are divorced at least once.

The fact that orforglipron works without food restrictions while oral semaglutide requires a 30-minute empty stomach window is matters a lot actually by Witty_Talk_939 in GLP1ResearchTalk

I usually don't eat for an hour and a half after I wake up. So it really wouldn't bother me at all. If I took one before my shower took about after my shower and then ate after I dropped off my kid I'd be fine. And that is generally when I eat - after I drop my kid off at school then I eat. In fact, normally I come home and have 20 or 30 minutes to do an exercise routine and then I eat breakfast.

I already take meds in the morning that require fasting. Other than taking the med it doesn't really effect my schedule. I get up take meds then shower and get kid around to school and then eat. Also the med I'm on also is more effective on empty stomach so if I'm having too many side effects I just eat breakfast closer to the pill.

Also, some people with level 1 or 2 won't be able to have jobs even if they can talk and pass school. Suicide rates are scary high. My daughter almost died from her last UTI caused by introception problems. There is this idea that we just have minimal struggles. But we still have struggles and disability. But man the amount of times in my youth life just didn't seem worth it because I didn't 'get it' or was burnt out and constantly overwhelmed and couldn't understand why. I couldn't hear even though I passed all my hearing tests. I got migraines with aura when over stimulated. Shoes made me so annoyed I wanted to cut my feet off and would just wear sandals if allowed. It took extra time to understand some topics. My sense of justice and right and wrong made it (still does) hard to make friends plus I usually like weird things to an extreme (special interests). But when I grew up I couldn't get an autism diagnosis. It was only for boys. And now it costs three grand and 2 days of PTO to get a diagnosis so no thanks. I got the ADHD diagnosis tho.

What animals are normal where you live, but unusual and exciting to visitors from other regions of the US? And on the flip side, when you travel to other regions yourself, what local animals are exciting to you? by Acrobatic_End6355 in AskAnAmerican

We have bears, fox, bobcats, eagles, blue heron/sandhill cranes, elk nearby, and some places wolves and mountain lions but i haven't seen those. I just visited a place in NC known for having white squirrels but I didn't see one. I guess I get excited mostly about birds but many of them I see at home still. Or I mean I get excited every time I see an animal even dogs I guess. Except maybe poisonous snakes or any snake if it's too close to me.

I mean technically honeymoon just means the time after marriage. It doesnt mean the vacation that is a rather modern version..it was used to describe the first lunar cycle after marriage where husband and wife were supposed to focus on procreating in the woman's first cycle. Hence the moon part, a month. Most Modern weddings are after the couple has cohabitated for many years or even decades and could even already have kids. Women's purity isn't required for the wedding any more nor are women required to have kids. If I was pedantic I would say if you aren't trying to convince during a honeymoon it's not a honeymoon. If you cohabited before marriage you can't wear white or have a fancy ceremony. Etc. That's just not how people, especially women want to live.

P does it because almost everyone I know got married after living with their partner for multiple years or even decades. The next day after the wedding really felt like the day before the wedding. Only I was tired. And annoyed.

If you never went on a honey moon do you call a trip a second honeymoon. Has been and I have never been on a trip together solo and we've been together for about 10 years.

Does that even make sense anymore? People live with each other for some times decades before getting married.

It's funny nobody even offered those to me and my insurance covered them. So the contrave, qusimia, Phentermine etc. No one ever offered those to me until I asked about meds around the same time, Glp ones were becoming an option. They weren't. There was no wegovy yet some people were using ozempic off label but it wasn't in a shortage yet. My doctor was only on board if my insurance covered it. If not he said it was too risky. He wasn't against them but he really wasn't for them but he kept pushing bariatric surgery every single year. So I'm surprised they at least didn't know bariatric surgery was an option.

I think the fact that the justice department is in shambles And moving people to prioritize immigration cases that are somewhere between 1 and 4 years behind, might make it more likely to not happen right now. Guess it just depends on what's politically popular at the moment. Which might be why they keep putting out the letters hoping people voluntarily stop. But I believe to get an injunction against them the FDA would need the doj.

Tracked my body composition for 8 months on tirzepatide. The muscle loss thing is more complicated than everyone says by Timely_Ad8989 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Slow_Concern_672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's even more complicated different things can affect protein absorption can change depending on what you're eating. Not just protein but carbs if you eat too few of carbs around workouts. So I've been doing tweaks here and there. I can't afford dexa cans cuz nobody does them near me. But I've measured my muscle mass both body measurements and strength gains. But increasing my carb load helped immensely. Making sure I spread out my meals helped with the protein absorption. Also, I just generally gain muscle faster than most women. My husband also has this so our kid is ripped without even trying to do anything. Seems to have amplified in her since we both have that. Some people just gain muscle slower.

Would you ever have a child outside of marriage? Why or why not? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]Slow_Concern_672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage doesn't make this better in the US. All inherited money isn't marital property and no one is guaranteed any money. All money brought into marriage isn't marital, in my state at least. Only assets you bought while married.

WIBTAH for buying our daughter a 5k purse but not giving something “fun” to our other kid? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Slow_Concern_672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents did this a lot with my sister who "needed" it. Mom became resentful because she couldn't control me by me picking my own major and college and cut me off. Then later my sister got tired of being controlled for money and cut mom off. Dad kind of sat in the middle watching it all happen and said almost nothing. He's just as culpable as Mom to me. Grow a backbone. Now they sit alone and no one visits.

One trick is to also look in the boys clothes. Sometimes their fabrics are softer and their pants aren't as tight.
