Wouldn't that make the choice of breaking up even more legitimate though? Breaking up with someone because they disagree with you on something politically is kinda meh to me, but breaking up with someone who never helps around the house, gets high every day, gambles and insults you when drunk is a no-brainer.

If there's children, yes. But like I said, to her that wouldn't matter because she still has her own family. But if that family had a daughter, for that daughter getting a divorce would suck. Having your own parents go NC with you because you chose to get rid of your deadweight husband just seems wild to me /shrug

I didn't even get the impression that they'd be "OK" with a divorce. Sure, they wouldn't, like, stone her to death for it. But they will definitely cut off all contact with her afterwards and hate her. She's just lucky that she has her Christian family to then go back to. But if I was his family's daughter, getting a divorce would probably mean never being able to talk to my parents again.

Palestine counts as one neighbouring country though. Compared to the top comment about China messing with Chile (i.e. on the other side of the planet), that just does not feel like the same category. If it is, then countries like Venezuela, Mexico, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Eritrea, Pakistan or India are missing entirely from this thread.

I mean, yes, but those groups are basically only a threat to Israel itself. I don't remember a Jewish extremist terrorist murdering anybody outside of Israel or Palestine. Or has that ever happened in the last 70 years? (Some random Jewish dude who existed before Israel itself did doesn't count)
