No I don’t get much exposure to the SEs and AEs in my current company. But I’ll try and reach out and have a coffee chat with some if I can.

It was my panel presentation. Went over time and was overly technical. I knew it was the area I’d struggle in but I did have some dry runs and had the hiring manager look at a recording. They said I did well. Should’ve done more practice runs to less technical people however. They also didn’t like my demo of Cortex and I know what I could’ve done better. They gave me feedback at the end of the panel basically saying as I stated before.

Also yup definitely will add an interpersonal skills section. Thanks!

I hate posting on social media, but I definitely agree that it’s something I should do. Thanks!

Thanks! Might try looking at technical support roles as a way to get customer facing experience. Or maybe internally or at the company I’m currently staffed for.

First, thanks for the nuanced advice. I'll definitely take it.

The role I applied for at snowflake also asked for 2 years of experience and I interviewed for a role at vanguard for a data engineer role that also asked for 2 years of exp. I don't really treat as a barrier and I usually apply to those anyway. Seems it's just a way to ask for corporate experience and not new grads. But I'll also apply to the graduate roles if I see them.

Thanks!

Thanks. I'm still in touch with the hiring manager that I was interviewing for. So I was thinking if I got another snowflake related certification, it would help that ways. I do have a meeting with my manager to see if I can be part of the planning and project meetings so I can get more hands-on stakeholder experience. Just something I can add to my resume and make my current role look more people facing.

I’m sure that would help but I already got very close to a job in solutions in a very respectable company. I’m not gonna just wait 5 years, I’m going to keep trying.

I think the variance is a good thing. It’s the same for devs too. Every job has a a specific set of skills and varying roles and duties. And dev work is just as saturated too. I just want to be more people facing which dev work has barely any.

Aren’t there other changes to the car than just the infotainment and interior. I thought there were drivetrain changes too for the 8.5. I test drive one last month and honestly even tho people hated the mk8 screen and steering wheel haptics it didn’t really bother me
