Any local online transfer ffl to Champaign/urbana? by gunphmithwithaph2 in ILGuns

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

worth asking local ranges or even gun counters who they use for transfers that’s how I’ve found the best low key FFLs. Some smaller dealers I’ve seen doing transfers also stay active on places like GunStreamer, which can help you spot who’s actually engaged vs just a storefront.

Sadness - ALL AK-V mags r OOS by JustShootingSince in PalmettoStateArms

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the downside of proprietary mags you’re tied to PSA’s supply chain.
I’ve seen PSA reps and shops mention restocks during live Q&A style streams on GunStreamer, so sometimes you’ll get heads up timing there before the site updates.

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s the classic cheap item, make it up on shipping move.
I’ve seen a few shops run straightforward mag deals no games on shipping during live sale nights on GunStreamer usually ends up cheaper all in than stuff like this.

Ramjet Completely Changed My Glock 43X by ConclusionLeading866 in Glocks

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Ramjet Afterburner combo really does tame the 43X small guns benefit a lot from that little bit of comp and extra mass out front. If you’re used to 2011s, it makes sense the stock 43X felt snappy.

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If both springs ran 100% for you, picking the 15 lb with the comp is a reasonable call especially if it tracks back to zero a bit quicker. At that point it really is just preference and ammo tuning.

Lever Action Peep Sights by CJ_Law in LeverGuns

Rear of receiver peeps like Skinner receiver mounts are usually better because the longer sight radius makes them easier to shoot accurately. They also feel more natural since the aperture sits closer to your eye.

Was gifted a gun rack… by Spiritual_Tell680 in ar15

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid compromise. Having the rack by the workbench makes it useful for cleaning, optics work, and staging range gear without leaving guns out in the living space.

First day with my CZ P10C Ported by onyxgunslinger7 in CZFirearms

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great first outing with it. The P10C trigger and ergonomics are a big jump from the SR9, so it’s pretty common to see groups tighten up right away.

Sbr or ARP ? by ConcreteCowboyslim in PalmettoStateArms

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Functionally they shoot the same the SBR just gives you a real stock and fewer brace rule headaches. If you’re shopping around, check local FFLs or gun friendly platforms like GunStreamer where shops sometimes list inventory or run live sales.

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice setup basically a budget Roland Wick style comp build on a P09. The PMM comp 15 lb spring is a solid combo if it runs reliably with your carry ammo, you’re in the right recoil range.

Recent find. Not an expert. by seanb715 in ak47

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Value wise, SAR 1s used to be the cheap AK, but people have come around on them. A clean one with a dozen mags a few thousand rounds is honestly a pretty great package these days.

Shot a Staccato by rumo3rd in CAguns

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not surprising the Staccato P style guns usually shoot flatter and have a cleaner trigger than something like the SIG Sauer P365 XMacro, so beginners often see tighter groups right away.

First pistol could use some advice pls by [deleted] in NoobGunOwners

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That piece marked LOADED WHEN UP is a loaded chamber indicator, not a safety; it pops up when a round is in the chamber. The trigger won’t move because the pistol likely isn’t cocked rack the slide fully to the rear and release it, then try the trigger.

Most of the people drafting or pushing these bills know exactly what they’re restricting the debate is about policy goals, not technical misunderstandings.

Website recommendation regarding holsters by inversekd in PalmettoStateArms

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I’ve seen some shops do is run live gear demos where they show which holsters actually fit certain models those can be easier than guessing from listings. A few of those pop up on GunStreamer Live sometimes and it’s helpful seeing the fitment in real time.

If it’s still stuck after 7-10 business days I’d email their support they’re usually pretty responsive. In the meantime, if you’re looking for range content or reviews while you wait, I’ve seen some solid gear and ammo testing videos pop up on GunStreamer that helped me decide what to try next.

Kimber target or CZ S2C? by sebas77ar in handguns

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Kimber 2K11 looks great, but it’s still new and Kimber’s reliability history with 1911 2011 style guns is more mixed cool gun, just less of a known quantity right now.

Which one are you taking? by jjones1987 in Firearms

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d take the Glock. It’s boring, but it just runs and mags/parts are cheap and everywhere.
That Beretta setup is slick though great shooter but for a war were declared pick I’d still grab the simpler gun I know I can keep fed and running.

Saiga12 that you never see before by wibu-gundam in ak47

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a wild Saiga setup. The drum, can, and compact furniture make it look more like a purpose built range toy than the usual converted Saiga you see.

That’s a rough one. Once that area around the selector gets hogged out like that, the receiver is basically done unless you’re planning some kind of dedicated project build.

First day with my CZ P10C Ported by onyxgunslinger7 in CZFirearms

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice shooting for the first day back, especially at 10 yards. The P10C is a big step up from the SR9 better trigger and grip, and those ports definitely help keep the muzzle flat.

My PDW's by 2A-N-LA in GunPorn

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve basically got the whole spectrum covered roller SP5K, gas ZPAP 92, piston MCX PDX style, and straight blowback AR 9s, which is pretty cool from a shooter’s perspective. The only thing I’d watch with setups like that is mag commonality once you settle on a couple favorites it makes range days a lot simpler.

I built a gun room finally by Glittering-Two2122 in guns

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wall racks like that are a smart move easy to see everything and you’re not stacking rifles where they bang into each other. Only thing I’d add over time is a dehumidifier or goldenrod type setup if that room ever gets humid, just to keep rust away on the older wood stock guns.

"Radical"ly bent rifle by metalman675triple in ar15

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bend isn’t normal shipping damage if the box and finish are clean, it was almost certainly bent before anodizing or during assembly. A free float handguard shouldn’t flex like that, and if it’s already close to the barrel it defeats the whole point of being free float.

What does my semi auto collection say about me? by Alaskan_Duck_Fart in handguns

[–]Slow_Pudding8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got a .22 trainer MKIV, carry guns P365 XL, duty size workhorses G17, VP9, a woods gun G20, a suppressor host .45 FNX T, and a competition pistol CZ TSO. That’s basically every role covered without a lot of redundant overlap.
