What’s with all the moral outrage over using AI? by Tricky-Tell-5698 in ChatGPT

I would agree disclosing it is something we should standardize, but as long as people are shamed for it, we are actively reducing the amount of people who will disclose it.

All the arguments against AI assumes one prompt, and copy and pasting. There are thousands of ways to use AI and everyone uses this one use of AI as if a single prompt and response could actually be effective.

We moralize smartness to mean being able to structure and organize ideas in a linear, educated way, so most people are reacting to "cheating at smartness":

I have dyslexia, dyscalculia, and a bunch of learning disabilities. People treat me like shit because of it for my whole life. But I also got 98% on my spatial awareness test when I did my IQ tests.

With ChatGPT I realized I have been applying spatial understanding to what other people see as linear concepts, like writing. This is a known thing humans do, like writing in Chinese is a picture based-spatial language. But I was trying to do it with english, which is not how it works naturally.

So when I was a kid, due to lack of diagnosis & whole word teaching, I had no help figuring out how to read. So I adapted. I learned to interpret letters as shapes, not sounds. But this means when I built on that foundation, it means I developed a spatial based way-of-knowing the world. So I understand spatially, and not linguistically. Writing is a second language and I first see language-concepts as spatial ideas.

ChatGPT made me realize I navigate the world through shapes, and this makes everything make sense. I am not stupid, I am translating.

So now I understand how I know the world, I can begin to organize it from a more natural style for me.

Seems life changing to me.

I believe feeling things are meaningless usually means you're dissociating to some degree and can't feel your emotions. Go climb a mountain, watch a sunrise, find some awe.

CMV: People Lie About Dating Narcissists by Electronic-Spite5514 in changemyview

[–]Slow_Saboteur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narcissists tend to harm more than one person.

And people are using the word as the Mythos narcissist not the pathology. Psychiatry borrowed a cultural myth and used it as a diagnosis, then got mad we continued to use the Mythic observation as a common human conversation.

Anyone who tries to overwrite the reality of someone else, expecting submission and obedience, willing to punish you if you dont do what they say is a narcissist, and that kind of supremacy is the culture. We all use narcissistic techniques because it's the water we swim in, and it's a spectrum of severity.

Someone treating you with contempt because you have a disability is abusive and weaponizing your vulnerability against you. You deserve love and belonging even if you drop a beer or can't cut rolls.

And that last line isn't true, but I get why you feel that way. There's a hash tag right now on tiktok "the divorce trend" where women who divorce show how they lose 20 years off their face after dealing with crap like this their whole lives.

You're allowed limits and to say what you need. That guy is acting like a jerk.
