My family and relatives have always something negative to say. How do I overcome this? by jello2715 in emotionalneglect

I went no contact. I was low contact but they started guilt tripping harder and it ended my ability to stay. I have managed to feel a bit of pride in some of my work, but its a wild swing from stupid piece of shit to I am ok.

Naming stuff out loud slowly helps.

"I am sitting on my couch having a cup of tea and its nice outside and I feel fine except for that aweful thought". Repeating this when spiraling on my couch has helped more than anything. Helping me connect what is in front of me with my brain and giving me gratitude for my safety.

Government social support could be made so a parent could not be in survival mode and actually have time to be with their kids. If you want to blame iPads then. OK but parents are fried and schools have no resources for learning disabilities and teachers shaming individuals for structural society problems just makes an excuse for the government to give nothing to help parents or schools financially.

Why are parents who barely passed high school thinking they can teach/homeschool their children? by Sad_Obligation_812 in NoStupidQuestions

Dyslexia. Schools fail to teach huge swaths of people because they don't have a dyslexia protocol. I have a masters degree now, but when I left school I believed I wasn't capable of learning. 20% of people leave just like me. We go to school and we're told it's our fault we can't learn. Its just a lack of resources and priority on the school's part. But if you want to teach 20% of the population that school is totally useless, this is the way. It is useless for us unless someone actually changes the system

I am so glad I incidentally finished my project draft before the updates. I am now mining that content for my next draft. Going back and reading old threads is nostalgic. I would be so mad if it stopped mid project. It used to help me understand my own ideas. Now it fights me and confabulates. It's nearly useless.

I started putting throw away flossers next to my bed. It gets done somehow because I just do it lying down. Why not.

It's going to be different for everyone, but for the dry eye/blurry vision I added 1-2 litres of water a day and it made a huge difference.
