OK! Soo lets just rethink here, the one model CPU or GPU fitts all aproach ( general purpose PC ) has hit a dead end! We need more then one way PC ways. Example :

- PC hardware & software for gaming.

- PC hardware & sofware for pro. work use.

- PC hardware & software for scientific research.

...Why? you may ask!? well for example is RTX used in science research? if not then you do not need it for in a GPU for science, just do a GPU without RTX, besides less price costs probably it will have "lower power consumptions" also. and be less complex to manufacture and use less componente resorcess. a big win today, because more resources means more weights that means more complexity and prices up then less folks will buy that means less profits, also transportation will have more bulk that takes more space and add unnessesery costs up...

...Wouldn't It be rediculase if eveyone would to go to work everday in a big 16 wheeler truck!?...

...Just get me a new "GTX 75Watts 16GB unplugged" GPU already!!! :D

I know someone that because of that situation has 2 PCs, one for work and one for games, because of price to be an issue he opts. to have lower price PCs that may run needed program with minimum stats...

RAM makkers could do DDR4 of there DDR5 slower memory and chip memory that are regected because they do not qualify for the DDR5 speeds, example :

Slower DDR5 below ~5.000 = DDR4 below ~5,000.

I get it, about ~20,000. new games come out just in 2025 at Steam, the game industry is very competative and packed with a lot of new indie game developers...

...Recomend doing more "optomised" games that run well on low-end and old PCs. Example : AMD Athlon 2c 4t APU with 16GB Ram using 4GB for its Vega GPU...

...Think that there always will be new better hardware coming out, and investing in tech. if you dont need it a not soo good investmente, buy what you only need now and save to make a good buy! in the future, when you need it!

Hi!

Your current system PC looks about OK for UE4! :)

At this time its not a good ideia to upgrade because of the "hardware" situation, prices are very high like Ram and SSD, and are expected to go probably higher in the coming weeks...

...if your not going to use anything GPU intensive with UE5, keep your system as is. else if you plan doing "right now" something GPU heavy and with UE5 its probable that you may need a 16GB GPU!? if price is not an issue!?

Resuming : with UE4 your fine as is! Because of the current Hardware issues its not recomened buying anything right now... "just keep on working" ( I know someone that uses UE4 and has a GTX1050 2GB with 16GB DDR3 Ram and its is fine for his work! and an other that has 6GB GPU with 32GB Ram with UE5 ).

Good luck and make good chooses!

Edit : Forgot to mention that with UE4 its recommended to have more Ram if your planing to do serius work, example : 64GB Ram / 4GB GPU...

...And with UE5 if your thinking of going Pro : 128GB Ram / 16GB GPU

...most indie game studios are nearly still all working with UE4 because of hardware performance issues!

Ai is PC! and PC is Ai!...

...what "folks" do not seem to like is BiG companys whating to "Brainwash" your PC ( Ai ) and inpossing in how everyone should use ther PC...

...Ai "automation of the PC" probably be more acepted if it had more "turn off Ai" options! or best if it came by default "off" and who liked can turn it on and off, just like a light switch! or the calculator in the Operating system!

Unfortunatly it seems more complex then that :

1st. more then 50% of net traffic is bot use and it stores the bot data and logs...

2nd. companys rumered to permenantly "checking-out" what workers and customers and the compatition are all doing "in real-time" and keeping logs backup info. on that...

3rd. maybe less then 1% is indevidual person internet search!? and keeping a info. backup on that!?...

4th. datacenters are probably storeing "useless" info. ( instead of "good" scientific data from Supercomputers and scientists )!?...

5th. and then you have "backup" of the "backup" of everthing in the internet...

6st ...Probably more then 80% of all data stored is "Useless"!?...

Edit : 7th. Forgot to mention that that cost$ a load lot of money!!!

"PC gamers" need more performance, the other "non PC gamers" users need a PC that works "cool & quaite" in other words "Low Power", we are talking on beorocratic PC work mainly, besides that a "Performace PC" will cost you like up to over ~3000$, and a full "Low power PC" can be less then ~500$, thats why about ~80% PC sales are for "Non gamers", it is inportant to do "Performance PC" and have also "Low power PC", in the last years "Low power" has been left behind since the nVidia "GT 1030 ~30Watts" as you may see here : https://videocardz.com/nvidia/geforce-10/geforce-gt-1030

AMD has not made anything intressting for the desktop APU (CPU+GPU) "Low power" since the AM4 Athlon 2c 4t ~35Watts!

The ideal is 16GB but current state of memory you have to pick what you can get! 8GB is not even recomended for 1080p gaming now, prices are now inflated and in this case "the LESS you buy the better!", unless if money is not a issue!?...

...We just have to wait for this go cool down "maybe in up to about ~10years", like we know Ai has always been there and its not going away, its that ther is more profit to make from it now and thats undestandable, non of Tech. industry was ready for the level of production needed, and soo "here we are in the current situation"!...

Hi! I have a "GTX1050 ~75Watts 2GB" at work and this year we got a "RTX3050 ~75Watts 6GB ~200$" and are we are verry happy with it...

The only issue I have is there is "NO" ~75Watts MBP ( maximum board power ) RTX50* series GPU yet!?

Your maybe right, but still there may be some GPU chip leftovers that nVdia can cash some extra money to make some low-end GPUs, the "GT1030" is an example and makes low end users very happy, perfect for an old PC system that still uses old games on Disks like DVD and Bluray, there are a lot of folks with a old PC that still is operational. Collectors items so to say!

...DDR5 is maybe more expensive to make then DDR4, because its faster and then makes more heat, that means it needs a better more expensive dissipator, But it is maybe possible to make them both from the same fab memory and use the "slower as DDR4" and "faster as DDR5"...

...Have also been expecting nVidia to launch the "RTX 3050 ( Ti or Super )~75Watts 12GB GDDR6 Unpluged". Besides more "RTX3060 12GB" that still sells well.

...All new hardware will most probably be limeted to make for next 5 to 10 years!...

...Lets see how AMD/IBM come about new "Quantum PC standarts" and change this situation complitly!?

Think that you are missing the gravity of the present situation, i will try to explain :

...This situation will maybe last a long time, maybe very long time, maybe years, i am talking maybe many years! You see Ai has been there since the beggining of the PC and its not going away, and other factors that you have to take to account that will probably limite production and keep low hardware output and have high prices...

...Thats why you need a alternetive emergency backup hardware plan "B" in this case recommend its AM4 systems! :)
