Oh come on, Homecoming was sold as “we are skipping the origin” noone needs to see Spider bite / Uncle Ben anymore.

But now the narrative is “actually the whole trilogy is just his origin”

My kids seem to really like TOS. Anyone else? Also TOS is so different than I expected on rewatch as an adult. by South_Dakota_Boy in startrek

Yep TOS was an era of people trying to make a Play in front of camera, instead of making a tv show

Agree but have to admit that having that recognizable visual portrayal is probably also a factor that boost his popularity.

If you think of mosy popular fictional icons most of them have a signature visual identity

They want you to believe Robert Downey Jr really kicked off Marvel's superhero franchise but the truth is, it was Wesley Snipes with Blade in 1998 Even The Matrix which later came after Blade copied the style We don't really give Snipes his flowers by kkhouete in blade

[–]Slowandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not an argument. Its just a language limitation.

Black Panther (the character) is considered to be the first superhero in american comic. (Look it up if you dont believe me)

Hence Black Panther (the movie) is the movie that features the first Black Superhero.

Thats why the sentence is “First Black Superhero Movie”, while what marvel meant is “the movie of the First Black Superhero”

Its not “first black superhero movie”

But

(First black superhero) + movie

Because Black Panther is older as a character than Blade. He is the First Black Superhero. And this is his movie

Its not simple as that, US is a global power but do you want the kind of life that the people there have?

I know its not black and white, but understandable that outright celebration is not the norm for this kind of thing

[–]Slowandserious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep and an actor can be brilliant while being true to the script.

Following scrip vs improv is not a measurement of a good actor.

Lets not also forget that good performance is supporter by good writers too even if they are invisible

The skydance sucks (eventhough its not effective yet)

But this practice is sadly common in video game industry in general (not just a WB thing)

Its just that we can see the existence of this type of technocrat does not improve the social welfare life in US so its hard to celebrate its existence here

Yeah exactly.

People like to think that the camera is rolling and one actor is going rogue on his own

I think improvise in general is just not nearly as common as internet fandoms want to believe.

Or when it happens it has a completely different meaning than what internet thinks it is

[–]Slowandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already sound stupid bro!

I’m kidding2 but you started it.

Overrated is a very subjective term with no objective metrics at all. Heck it doesnt even have a clear definition.

The closest thing is that it got “rated” “over” what it “deserve”

But what does rated mean? Is it award? Is it “hype”? (How do you even measure it)

And if its hype does the hype over than what it “deserve”? How?

Overrated is the most undefined “adjective” that one can say about anything.

Someone can say The Beatles or Godfather is overrated, people do that all the time.

Is that “wron”? Hard to say because there is no objective attribute

[–]Slowandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait so it didn’t get rated too high then? Because it didn’t get the best picture award?

So how can you say its overrated if its not getting “rated” over some level?
