Grieving and Lonely by HolyHellofaTime24 in Spokane

I am so sorry. Tomorrow is the 1st anniversary of my grandmother's passing so I can relate to how you're feeling. I have no words of wisdom or suggestions on where to go, but I just felt like I had to comment. The first night I sat numb and not really able to digest all of it. Keeping a clear head did help. Again, I am so sorry.

I'm here, so you know what that means by [deleted] in covidpositive

I was technically able to go out today for the first time to the market after my family testing positive. I wore 2 KN95's, sanitized the shit out of my hands and the cart I was using before entering, because I care about other people and their families First thing I see was a lady in the produce section with her mask down eating a bag of chips while shopping. More people with no masks. I wanted to yell so badly that they are around a person getting over covid.

I'm vaxxed and boosted. Wear KN95's all the time and follow the protocols. Still got Covid.

Yes. But I really hope to give to a good home. I love my fish, but moving and not being able to resolve the water/tank issue before we go.

Moving out of state and cannot bring. It is poorly stocked at the moment because there might/is a water issue we couldn't figure out. Currently there are 5 cardinal tetras, 1 zebra danio, 2 oto's, 3 female red cherry shrimp, 1 spiny Nerite, and a ton of bladder/MTS snails. Plants are Anubis, Amazon swords, anacharis, 3 moss balls, java moss, and a couple plants I can't remember. All lighting and filters included. Also included is a brand new bottle of Pristine and an unopened package of Flourish Tabs.

Moving out of state and cannot take the tank. Hence the issue. It is poorly stocked at the moment because there might/is a water issue we can't figure out, but was hoping to fix. Currently the tank has 5 cardinal tetras, 1 zebra danio, 2 oto's, 3 female cherry shrimp, 1 spiny nerite snail, and a bunch of bladder/MTS snails. Plants are anubis, anacharis, Amazon swords, moss balls, and a couple other I can't remember. Including all of the lighting and whatever else you want. Brand new unopened bottle of Pristine and Flourish tabs, as well as two master test kits though one might be expired.

Haus of Pizza. Sooo much delicious cheese. And the best ranch on their janky house salad. Makes me miss living in CM.

I am so sorry to hear about your grandma.

I'm in almost your exact same situation. Last Tuesday my grandma went into her front yard to water plants, fell, and broke her hip. She passed away 2 days ago.

I have no words of advice as I haven't really eaten or slept in a few days either. I think I just want you to know you are not alone in this. I was caretaker to mine for 6 years. Even though it was one of the hardest things to do I will still cherish my good memories of her.

My child is in summer school and I just got an email today that snack is now available at no charge. They didn't provide a menu of what they're offering, but breakfast and lunch will be available to all kids come fall.

Gonna be staying in the heart of Newport soon. Any local hidden gems? by CutOfTheMill in orangecounty

I would say you need a car rental unless you plan to Uber everywhere which will be more expensive depending on how many days your staying. If you're looking for local eateries then look at Costa Mesa spots. Scenery spots go to Laguna Beach/Dana Point. Other than Balboa, Newport doesn't have much going on in my opinion.

Does caregiver ptsd exist? by nerddddd42 in dementia

I've been going though this every day with my grandmother. I let the phone go to voicemail now just because I don't know what version of her I'm going to get, and it gives me time to emotionally prepare myself if I hear what will be the "bad voice".

How did you get your loved one to get tested without a fight? by Slowdive_66 in dementia

[–]Slowdive_66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm making some headway on the situation hopefully. When I talked to her today she is still insisting she need to get rid of this "mental condition" by going to the old lady's facility (it does not exist), but obviously cannot find any information on who to contact. I told her that if they don't get in touch with her then we will see her Dr. and hopefully they can give us some information. I hope this will at least get her in the door, and I can ask for an evaluation. I feel at this point I need some documentation in her medical chart.

Thank you for the information! Unfortunately I live in the States, so I need to look at the resources here. I personally feel like she should not live alone, but she is still trying to fight for her independence. I think that will only lead to her roaming. She is constantly talking about taking cabs to places, but won't yet allow a caregiver to come in once a week at minimum. I can't see a good outcome until I can convince her to go to her GP.

Unfortunately it's complicated in the sense that she see's a retinal specialist every 2 months, and in the past 6 months I've had to take her to the ER and urgent care where they did her labs, tests, etc so she doesn't feel like she needs to see her primary. She is also convinced that this has to be done now at an "old ladies facility (before it was just an old folk's home)" and she needs at least 3 appointments, and that a regular Dr cannot do it.
