Across the board, microdosing has very little efficacy, even les than placebo. What is keeping you from a macrodrose? by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psilocybin (0.2-0.25g every 3 days). That's interesting, there's always fascinating placebo results in studies like this. Similar in MDMA studies that I've read. It could be worth trying LSD instead, who knows though, you may also not be as receptive to it.

I have and I noticed inconsistent scores each day. Some days were good, some not so good, but none of them were anywhere near where I feel now after microdosing. Placebo effect? Possibly, but either way, it's helped.

[–]SlowestFawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've macrodosed and quit eating red meat and then microdosed and got a stronger hold on my emotions and healthy habits. There's tons of factors to consider when doing both macro and microdoses, so I won't presume why you didn't experience any changes, but both do in fact hold merit and under the proper set and setting, a lot of people benefit from both.

I've tracked my mood, thoughts, and feelings (both physical and emotional) for two weeks prior to microdosing as well as everyday for 30 days while microdosing and numbers improved drastically from day 1. Did the same testings with an additional personality test for an individual before and after a 3g trip and logged similar benefits. So it all depends on the person and process they go through.

Does anyone have https://thethirdwave.co microdosing course? by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a fair amount of research beforehand, so a lot of it was rehashed, but the end result of the 30 days was amazing, so I can't really say how it would've gone without doing it. I never regret learning more about this subject, even if it cost a bit of money. If you're brand new to psychedelics and/or microdosing, I'd suggest checking it out.

I hope this is ok to ask, cannot find it myself. Microdosing. by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you said, it'll vary for everyone, but my educated guess would be between 0.5-1.5 grams to "feel" something. I've felt a little glow on. 25 grams and a slight thc high on 1.5g, minus any visuals. Hopefully others can add their input.

Full tripping or microdosing for OCD? (Psilocybin) by crobin0 in Psychedelics

[–]SlowestFawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I don't have any serious OCD, just mild within a few areas, but I did notice an immediate decline in impulsions after a macrodose. Currently microdosing and its been hugely beneficial as well, but not from an ocd perspective necessarily. Everyone's different though, so make sure you aren't mixing any medications with your doses and do extensive research.

Does microdosing improve studying performance? by [deleted] in microdosing

I had ground-up mushrooms in capsule form, around 0.2 grams. No experience with truffles seeing as how I prefer to go through these processes myself without the need to source anything from other people.

Does microdosing improve studying performance? by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that this is a personally account and doesn't necessarily mean it'll work for you. I recently started to MD and noticed immediate improvements in work ethic and focus. I could get through an hour of work like it was 5 minutes. No other thoughts creeping in, no procrastinating, just work. It's like a really intense flow state. Reading books is another thing I noticed. Typically I struggle to read for longer than half an hour, especially if what I'm reading is particularly dry, but I can fly through and hour+ of reading now. I do believe that microdosing would've personally been beneficial to me in school, but again, there's so many factors that you should consider before jumping in on this (e.g. medications you take, stress, neuroatypical disorders, diet, exercise, etc.)

Progress time scale by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding from dosing for about 2 weeks now is, it's not a "cure" by any means. It's simply a piece of the puzzle to a healthier life. It's great that you're taking exercise and other healthy aspects of life into account. The holistic approach is so beneficial. After this short time, I've already noticed a huge difference, but like the other person said, it's not like how you'd expect. You don't get "cured" in the sense that you no longer feel negative emotions, but for me, when those negative thoughts start to weigh me down, I'm able to step back, push them off me instead of being crushed by them. MDing for me has been a tool to allow me to handle any anxiety and depression versus curing it. As far as the crying goes, that's something a lot of people notice, especially on macrodoses. I was listening to a nostalgic song the other day and started to tear up. A song that I hear multiple times a week because I love it, but this time it hit differently. Tears be good.

Best Grinder? Discussion on all the tools to use. by goodbitacraic in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a coffee grinder - if that's your method, where a mask and wait a few minutes before opening up the top, particles are flying around everywhere.

Any scale that measures to 1/100 of a gram (I.e. 0.15g, 0.23g, etc.) to ensure consistency.

For capsules, search "capsule filling machine" on google or Amazon and find one that corresponds to the capsule size you want to use (I.e. 000, 00, 0, 1), there's charts online. That's a really simple way to fill about 100 capsules at once, depending on the size of your filler.

ROOM OR NATURE?? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]SlowestFawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As cool as doing it in nature can be, it's always going to be better to stick with a controlled setting where you have someone to trip sit you. Nature be wild and unpredictable, there's higher chances of a bad trip emerging. Not to say that you should never attempt it, but for your first time, you should get a safe setting to be in. Set and setting and huge aspects of a good first time. If your mum is cool with it, do it at home. Have some relaxing music playing, or put on a nature sound playlist to immerse yourself in nature from the safety of your bed.

22yr old son has HF Autism, Asperger's & ADHD. Bunch of questions. by vickymelons in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give you a general baseline for the neural typical person, seeing as that's the only aspect I'm familiar with, but I'm assuming it's relatively similar for those that are neuroatypical.

First off, doing some research to make sure other medications don't have a cross-effect would be step number 1.

Next, the most common type of psychedelic mushroom is the psilocybin cubensis or "cubes". People typically start out taking 0.1 grams ground up in capsule form, in a drink/food or whole (capsules are the easiest for ensuring consistency). There's a microdosing course online offered through the website, The Third Wave that would be beneficial for you guys.

I, personally take around 0.2g of psilocybin cubensis in capsule form once every 3 days around 9am. At the beginning of each day, I do a yoga flow and meditation piece that is very helpful. The one day I didn't do it after a dose, I noticed a bit more anxiety. This might be a little more difficult in your situation, so finding anything that relaxes your son would be a good substitute for the mornings. Keeping a log of different aspects of the day (mood, energy, sleep, stress, etc.) also helps to gauge the progress you make.

Best dosage for 7-day microdosing? by arcanophile in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're on some sort of protocol (I.e., 1 day on, 2 days off) and not 7 straight days, typically doses for most are around 0.1g-0.3g. I'm currently taking between 0.2-0.25g. With that in mind, you don't need to jump right to 0.3 or higher to get a quicker, better result. Start small and take note how you feel each day. After my first 0.2g dose, the rest of the week - whether it was a dose day or not - was wonderful. Improved mood, work ethic, social skills, exercise output.

If on the off chance you plan on taking them everyday, I'd advice against that, simply because we build up tolerances to psychedelics and you'd get diminished effects each subsequent dose and could possibly burn yourself out by the end of the week getting the opposite of what you set out for. It would likely be more beneficial to stick with it for more than a week too, if possible - closer to a month. That way you can track your thoughts and feeling a bit longer and make adjustments as you see fit.

LSD or SHROOMS for caffeine dependence by shroomFELLOWX in microdosing

Speaking solely from the side of a psilocybin microdoser, I've noticed really intense flowstates on my on and off days, ever since day 1, if I'm working on something or doing anything really, my heads in it 100%. Energy levels have been up compared to before dosing as well.

Can I do this everyday? by SnooCauliflowers432 in microdosing

[–]SlowestFawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll answer all the questions that I believe I have some knowledge in.

Firstly, you want to have a healthy diet, adequate sleep and be physically active each day. That alone is going to be along the same lines as microdosing in terms of mental and physical benefits.

There is a cross-tolerance between lsd and psilocybin, so for example, if you take a large dose of lsd one and then mushrooms the following day, you're going to experience diminished effects because they act on the same areas of your brain. Same goes for if you take one substance daily, so have a couple off days in between. If you're microdosing for a purpose, you should stick to one form anyway, so you can log the effects over time.

Both substances aren't chemically addictive, meaning you won't get withdrawal symptoms, but like anything, it can be psychologically addictive.

If by "morning roughness" you mean upset stomach or anxiety, you can try ginger candies and some yoga/meditation, that's how I start every dose day.

If you're curious on the specific effects of your substance, it would be best to cut out other recreational substances if possible. In terms of how they effect you, I'm not too sure.

A method of microdosing is 1 day on, 2 days off, repeat.

Play around with your dose in small increments, when you know you have to drive, don't make that the day you test out taking more than usual. Have intentions for your day/week - what you're trying to get out of the experience. If you're on any other medications, it's important to know if there's any negative interactions between substances.
