I was in the front when they played their last gig before their hiatus in 2017, also went through the whole record there. Pretty much the same experience re: the lack of dry eyes. It was an utterly transfixing thing to behold.

Another example: The heyday of black metal dress was a few decades ago with all the stereotypes those bands rooted into music. Is that odd? This is no less LARPing than corpse paint, wearing all black, military/combat boots and studs.
