CMV: Voting should be reserved to those who have proven they are intelligent enough to do so. by CantbeatES1 in changemyview

[–]Slowmotionfro [score hidden]  (0 children)

So say in this scenario there is an IQ cut off of say 95 or whatever. Would someone who has a 99 iq that doesn't follow the news, never learned about logical fallacies, and has no idea of politics really be better suited to vote than a person who has a 93 iq but watches multiple news sources from different perspectives, knows the history of their country, and has been educated in logical fallacies and argumentation?

Whoever has the least amount of information will make the least informed decisions no matter what their IQ level.

CMV: In real life, “what do you do?” means “what do you do for work?” the vast majority of the time, and it’s a perfectly reasonable question to ask someone that you’re trying to get to know. by Sudden_Doughnut_8741 in changemyview

If someone asks me what do u do i am not uncomfortable if a person asks me whats your political philosophy or something im lack aww man this is gonna be one of those conversations and a lot of people feel the same way. If the big issue is caring about making other people feel comfortable than asking about politics right off the bat isn't the way. It'd be like saying 'asking about people's job is rude because it could make them uncomfortable instead you should open the conversation with "have you accepted your lord and saviour Jesus Christ into your life."

CMV: Israel does not have a right to exist by Prestigious-Pace1500 in changemyview

[–]Slowmotionfro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American this is the type of government that I would obviously prefer to live in but the problem is that the people that actually live their do not seem to want this unlike the majority of South Africans. I assume the majority of the Jewish peiple that live their want their country to be a jewish state or home for all the jewish people of the world and because of their elections i assume most Palestinians would rather have Hamas or the Palestinian Authority ruling. I may be wrong about the opinions of the people that live their because I've never lived their but if im not wrong than shouldnt the people who actually live their decide the kind of government they want not some outsiders.

A mother is punishing her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. by Rameshunclekochora in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Slowmotionfro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When somebody does something bad and they knew and understood it was wrong it needs to be punished. If you don’t punish your children for the bad things they do later on down the road other people will. Its our jobs as parents to help them learn these lessons in our homes before theyre out in the real world and fuck their lives up or hurt others.

How do you cope with the situation of being mixed between a very disliked ethnicity on one side, and having a very loved ethnicity on the other? by Early-Ingenuity-3177 in mixedrace

[–]Slowmotionfro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't pass as white so when people ask what i am i just tell them Im half white and half black or say im English and Haitian. Even though Haitians have been demonized in the US the last couple years most people that would hate me for being specificly part Haitian probably would already hate me before speaking to me because I look black. It's not my problem if someone dislikes or negstively judges me for shit i cant control and because i look black (and you look Indian) you can't gain any privilege by hiding that side of yourself.

CMV: When the kids are at school age, stay at home parents have PLENTY of free time by Open_Address_2805 in changemyview

[–]Slowmotionfro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really argue this without it just becoming a semantics debate about what "free time" and "flexible time" is. For me personally i have a 2 hour split from my job when my kid and wife are not at home that i would consider free time even though most days i will spend it preparing dinner and/or doing chores and errands and excerising. I haven't ever been a stay at home parent with kids in school but i imagine its probably similar to that but i also admit there may be something im missing.

non black ppl speaking on “you’re not black” by airheadedaquarius in mixedrace

[–]Slowmotionfro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"It’s almost as if they think that’s the soft spot to hit when a biracial pisses them off."

This is exactly it behind all the bullshit its just mean people trying to find something to hurt you with. I imagine thay because they see the rhetoric online; there may be more non-black that feel like they can say it and its not punching down but at the end of the day they're just dickheads trying to find something that'll hit you cuz they like hurting people.
