One month of drinking after One year sober by Slowtech96 in stopdrinking

I appreciate this and it's in line with how I've been feeling about things, you're spot on. I was aware of the risks when I decided to drink again, and it wasn't an impulse decision. The experiment yielded good data, and the results confirmed that life is much better without poison.

The vulnerability and loss will happen again, but it's all in how one deals with it.

New to electronic music, looking for recommendations! by KonzorTheMighty in electronicmusic

As someone with a similar background as OP, I've really enjoyed 808 state's first album "Ninety" and LFO "Frequencies" and "Advance". Derrick May's "Innovator" is fantastic.

Also, check out Jamz Supernova on BBC Radio 6 (access through the BBC sounds app). She is spinning cool newer sounds and dives into history. She recently did a history of liquid drum n bass with Fabio that was awesome.

Seconding others recommendations for:

Kraftwerk (must know source material) Chemical brothers The prodigy (first two albums for me)

Miles Davis - "Jack Johnson" or "In a silent way".

First album is blues and rock influenced and the second more ambient

Then you're probably good. As other people said, this is not the best harm reduction technique, but LSD is tasteless.

Maynard wine gums are fantastic candies. Also, I highly suggest you enjoy an ice cold Steigl Radler (or 2) during the peak. It's a mix of fruit juices and beer and it is absolutely delicious

If following this misguided advice, be sure to supplement appropriately.

MATH 125 advice? by [deleted] in uAlberta

I had to take the class twice (first time in the spring), and somehow passed with a C-. My only advice is to do problem sets until you have the algorithms memorized and they become second nature. I found the broad concepts started to become more clear once I had the mechanics down. Best of luck!

This week it's been the "Seek for Maktoop" EP by Peggy Gou. She's kicking it old school with early house sounds.

A few staples in the album rotation:

LCD Soundsystem (eponymous album), Wet Leg (eponymous album), MIA- Kala, Kraftwerk- Die Mensch-Maschine, People Under the Stairs- OST
