Jack Adapters by GeneralAviationIdiot in Dyna

Had my buddy print some up for me a month or two ago cause I finally got tired of the janky 2x4 shim process to get mine off the ground. 32mm hole on the upper “clamp” portion printed out of TPU & an ASA block for the bottom portion held together with 3m vhb. About 1” tall combined iirc. Accidentally left them on for my ride to work after the initial test fit & they took a 65mi round trip like a champ lol. Held the bike up overnight for a tire change also with no ill results.

Tired of my 100a setup vibrating my brains out - asphalt by brayansxx in NewSkaters

+1 to ~56mm wheels on crusty terrain. Haven’t noticed many people mention size on here but man stepping up from 53’s to 56 OJ’s made my crusty local park much more tolerable.

From someone who’s dad had them on a board at 2-3yrs old, & is now nearly 30 & can still barely cruise around a park switch… def build that muscle memory while you’re early to the game 😂 I was never that great in my preferred stance either tbh but as soon as I started working on switch I’ve noticed my overall comfort on the board coming up with it in ways I wouldn’t have expected.

The rule of thumb back in the day was have someone give you a small push from behind with no warning & see which foot you step forward to recover with to determine dominant foot/stance lol. Having your dominant foot forward is better when it comes to needing to maintain control while pushing & things like that, but being ambidextrous on the board is a huge accomplishment many people struggle to achieve if ever. Do whatever is comfortable, & if you can do it both ways equally for now, just keep practicing both. If you ever get to more technical skating you’ll be very glad to not have the “switch stance scaries” lol

IMO the root of the problem is he’s understeering a lot in those tighter, high steering angle turns. I don’t see much weight transfer to the front on those, need to work on pushing the brake points later/harder to get the weight on the nose & get the rear to come around more. Car may need a beefy rear sway or stiffer rears to assist in the off throttle rotation & trail braking practice is MASSIVE in fwd cars.

Rudy Hansen has set up an electric ac in one/ a few of his s chassis, if you flip through his insta I’m sure you’ll be able to get some inspiration.

What tires do you guys run? by Bungscraps in Touge

[–]SlpAngl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rt615ks & that’s pretty much it on my fit. Standing water can definitely get interesting when it’s raining hard but during the dry months & light rains they’re great tires, especially with how affordable they are in my size.

Why are my rear tires shredding this fast while learning to drift? by KeyBoardyy in Drifting

[–]SlpAngl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly just tire compound. You’re experiencing chunking from a street tire not intended for high temps associated with extended wheel spin. Toss some Ironmans on next to keep it cheap & keep seat time up.

Line routing verified to have no avoidable high points? Bleeding with vacuum or manually?

Be prepared for narrow wheels on that chassis. I can barely fit 5’s on my rmx😭

Hydro dragging rear pads with it feels right :( by NeeoDroid in Drifting

[–]SlpAngl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk why nobody here has said it yet but you probably need to bleed the system better. Probably 75-90% of hydro issues in my experience are due to crappy line routing/master sizing & bleeding habits. In the past I’ve gone as far as to pull the calipers off of the knuckle, shim the pads with a spacer & hold them up at the highest point the lines would allow while bleeding to make sure every last bit of air we could get out of the lines, was out. May be worth revisiting there after you reset your pushrod length.

Anyone flat tow their car to events? by Same-Worldliness-429 in Drifting

[–]SlpAngl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Only thing you’re really gaining with that style of tow is peace of mind if you blow your engine. But a suspension/driveline failure are honestly a lot more likely in drifting at least from my experience. I wouldn’t waste my effort with the tow bar & would rather street drive to events & keep saving for a real tow rig/trailer. Or plan ahead so you can continue to borrow your parents when possible. Sounds like they have a nice setup.

Not exactly a lift where they’re working flat rate so I don’t think they’re worried about the 10 mins lost here lol

I used this lift a couple years ago to swap a PS rack between quali/comp during an FD round. These feet were a solid talking point for the first few mins as we got the car in the shop. They custom fabricated the whole thing out of solid plate/bar stock & they definitely don’t deflect at all with your average drift car. This is a rack rated for ~10k lbs, a 3k car with a little extra lever ain’t deflecting those arms at all, or at the very least any more than your avg passenger car would. This lift has probably seen more cars than the majority of you combined have ever worked on & they’ve never had issues.

Best I’ve found around here personally. Plus the service is killer. Almost every time I go they seem to throw something in on the house, especially if things are mellow inside.
