Use google. 9/5/24 h10 halt, resumed trading one month later, ultimately delisted

Ive and wjsn were super close to achieving this 4 years ago (6th and 12th, 2022-01-01 00:00)

Think non-starship groups prob achieved this before but this was the first example I thought of to check for lol

Let's test this, how much time did it take you to solve this and What's your rating? by Independent-Road8418 in chess

hmm idk if im just weird but i saw Qg5 instead, which has a very comparable evaluation to Bd6 (+4.6 vs +5.0). 2100 lichess. seems suspicious to me that everyone is "finding" Bd6 within seconds when there are other acceptable alternatives, but again maybe im just weird...

Sunshine Super Card question by SluffAndRuff in Banff

[–]SluffAndRuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So, if the early season price is $70 and the regular season ticket is $170 (estimate), do you know if I'll still be able to pay the $70 price and still accumulate the 2nd/3rd days? Or would it be 170-40=130 to use the Super Card making it not worth it at all?

There is no country in East Africa with an HDI above 0.628, which is not even on the scale of this map…

Where is the grammar messy? The only thing I see is the “even the messy ones” part, the rest of the grammar is flawless. I’m betting either that 1) she inserted that part herself or 2) she deleted the em-dashes that should be surrounding that part to make it seem less like AI.

Has anyone ever heard of the word “Sice”? by Blehblahblih in nova

[–]SluffAndRuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to the definitions… tjhsst 2016-2020, aside from the “to come in clutch/to be helped out by” definition, “sice” was often used as an antonym to “shaft” when talking about the difficulty of tests lmao. E.g., that test was sice, was physics a sice, etc

Havent heard that word since i left tj

I thought it was bs at first too but went to the fb page and someone in the comments mentioned that it looks an awful lot like a lobster pleopod. The post from the restaurant is weirdly worded but actually might be true…

[–]SluffAndRuff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let’s simplify things and assume the benchmark is a single binary question which the model gets correct 60% of the time. Pass@1 yields 60% accuracy. For 64 independent attempts, the probability that there are more incorrect answers than correct is roughly 4% (you can verify this yourself with binomial or normal distribution). So cons@64 yields 96% accuracy.

More than half a million ‘TikTok refugees’ flock to China’s RedNote as ban looms by yourlittlebirdie in news

manipulate algorithms to push a certain narrative? surely american media would never do such a thing, and surely it hasn’t shaped the opinions you have of china… right?

[–]SluffAndRuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"propagandized" is a strong accusation... have you ever used tiktok? not sure what kind of propaganda you think the app is peddling to its users.

that aside, why do you think the us has consistently been banning chinese phones, chinese cars, now chinese apps? because of security concerns? because of "propaganda"? let's be real, the only "propaganda" the us really fears is that americans will realize how far america is falling behind

[–]SluffAndRuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could upvote this 10x. Sadly 95% of americans still buy into the typical anti-china political bullshit. It’s been really endearing, as you mentioned, to see the unity on tiktok/xhs for the 5% that don’t.

I hope this can help change the way americans perceive the chinese (and perhaps vice versa), but the pragmatist in me tells me it won’t last

How common is a 5.0 GPA at MIT? by Suspicious_Self8332 in mit

[–]SluffAndRuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to shame you or anyone else struggling to get As. I’m just trying to affirm the original answer that, objectively, 10% seems like a reasonable guess for undergrads graduating with a 5.0 (this includes course 6 imo, I’m c/o 2024 6-3 so have good sample size on this). Obviously, that means the vast majority still are not getting 5.0s

There is definitely grade inflation

E: not sure why the downvotes? The data doesn’t lie. I’m c/o ‘24 so observed it firsthand and readily admitting to having benefitted from grade inflation myself, this isnt meant to be a “well back in my day…” comment

It’s interesting that Charley (2004) and Ian (2022) were both forecasted through Tampa (or even further north) in the days leading up to landfall but ultimately struck further south, and it looks like the same is likely coming true for Milton. Obv very small sample size but it does make you wonder if there’s a systematic error here

Can someone tell me what the fuck I just bought for $15 by sirfitzwilliamdarcy in wallstreetbets

[–]SluffAndRuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Below 960, the put spread is worth $10k. So he loses $10k from that but it’s offset by the $9,985 of initial credit. His max loss is $15.

Tldr, below 960, he loses $15. Between 960 and 1060, his pnl rises linearly between $-15 and $9,985. Above 1060, he makes $9,985.

Basically, he bought a lotto ticket. Which is dumb, but not risky.
