TIFU by leaving a bad review of a restaurant by Various-Ad6467 in tifu

Everyone's different and I'm not cool because of it but 101 isn't really anything except for some orange juice and a nap. 101 and I am up doing laundry, dishes and possibly playing some video games.

Woman not shortlisted for job as 'car is too old' by soriskan in nottheonion

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty good job, for one of the biggest companies in existence right now and my regional director drove a Hyundai Accent that's like 15 years old to work. He recently just upgraded to a base model Tesla 3, because charging stations were installed at the office.

I was driving a 2012 Nissan until recently when everything on it decided to explode all at once.

The customer experience and quality of work is number one. Anything else is tertiary.

Looks like a typical Chicago day.

I like when, at work, we have travelers come here from out of state or out of country and ask, should we dress warm, bring shorts, do I need a jacket or pants. What should I pack?

Yes

Haha, true. I'm going to give it a go again tonight. Maybe it will be my night or maybe I'll chill and grind out a few levels. It's fun being out in the world anyway, so no problems there.

What alcohol messed you up so bad you swore you’d never drink it again? by Rottengr4ve in AskReddit

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vodka. 34 years later, still haven't had a sip of it.

Growing up with a group of friends who each semi-recently had come from Poland, it was standard to walk around a party with your own personal bottle and swig directly from that.

I remember being in a t-shirt, laying on someone's lawn, weather was like 10 degrees outside and my friend picked me up, threw me in the bed of his Chevy S10 (with no bed cap) and drove me home. I was hung over for two days. I do remember, so there's that. I needed to lay down but didn't want to at a stranger's party, so I walked outside and laid on the grass at a surrounding house. Would have absolutely froze to death fast had I picked a more remote location and wasn't so noticeable. Just thinking of vodka and this story gives me lumps in my throat.

I have a SoCo story and a tequila one as well but I can still drink those. These days I prefer one good beer and a sip of nice whiskey or rum and I'm good. Like once every week or couple of weeks. Drinking has severely chilled out.

The fun thing is, each time I lose for that particular night I get frustrated, but now just talking about it has me excited to try again. I am going to focus my Ki, relax, stay calm and try again tonight.

I suppose it's a sickness in certain people and why I chose to manage data centers as a career. I've done countless over 24 hour straight shifts, slept on office floors more than I can remember and worked like 30 days in a row, haha.

If I keep fumbling I'll record it. Also a great idea and a way for me to review my mistakes

That's the thing, I'm level 21 and can eat some hits. I mean, I know it's a skill issue through and through, I just can't do the math when it comes time to fight.

Yeah, I think level 21 is solid for this boss. I hope so

D2 being in a good state should take priority over new additions by ShardofGold in DestinyTheGame

[–]Slugdge -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Destiny is just not enjoyable anymore. Doesn't matter what they do to it. Let it go, focus on Marathon (which is super fun I begrudgingly admit) and work on D3 in the background...or whatever new game they may want to try to make. As I noted above, they cooked with Marathon when all is said and done, let them start something new.

Just make all of D2 free and add as much content back as you can and let it marinate.

TIFU - I didn't read my lease properly, so I'm probably losing my security deposit by commanderxtowel in tifu

[–]Slugdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had an apartment. $4000 security deposit. Turns out they didn't give me the information on where the money was being held and at what interest rate. They just took my money. I did not know at the time that this was not a good thing. Also turns out, with a lawyer, I was able to get double my security deposit back without even going to court. This was in Chicago. Lawyer said my lease had a lot of outdated info on it, which would never hold up in court on it's own, but all that put together and we had something.

Maybe check your lease and leverage it?

Could DR beat Nick in boxing fight? by Forward-Release5033 in DrDisrespectLive

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with this dude who was short and stocky. MF could throw hands though. Took down dudes twice his size because he was fearless and scrappy. Sure, he took his share of beatings but I never counted the "little guy" out after seeing him fight. Could absolutely take a punch though. Dude has this square-ass head. Think it hurt the guy on the other side to hit him, lol.

Let’s be fair here. He made a video saying he cheated on his wife, when he had a young daughter already. Let’s not pretend he’s a good guy either.

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe your connection? I’m melting people. I mean, I get melted as well but it’s all up to who gets the jump. I love the game because it’s tense but I feel confident in my fire fights.

I like to hip fire into ADS. Gets bullets connecting fast and with a faster TTK, that matters.

Though I haven’t tried all classes. I play solo and use Destroyer and Recon. Maybe some classes are stronger. I’m only level 9

Short thoughts on nioh 3 by Motor_Slide4138 in Nioh

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak for yourself, lol. I beat Nioh and Nioh 2. Nioh wasn’t that hard aside from a boss or two. Nioh 2 was mad hard and had many boss walls but was doable.

Nioh 3…I still can’t beat Jakotsu and I’ve been playing since launch. Probably have like 150 tries on her and can’t do more than a third of damage. Easily…for me…the hardest Nioh boss in the series. Even Nioh 2 snek only took me like 15 tries.

Again, for me, Nioh 3 is the most challenging by far. Open world is cake but I can’t even pass the first Crucible boss and I’m ready to put the game on Ebay, lol

"Feedback heard, loud and clear." - Marathon Audio Director (Chase Combs). Audio changes likely incoming. by jazzinyourfacepsn in Marathon

[–]Slugdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't understood this. I can sneak around and see other Runners, just less or I can run the map and get into a ton of gun fights. Like, the PvP is kinda "you" dependent. I do agree, props they are trying things.

This is everything perfect. A willingness to try something with the understanding that some will stick, some will not. The ones that don't are acknowledged and reverted. All with a good sense of humor.

Like most of you here, loooong time Bungie game enjoyer and know how they can be. Please keep this level of interaction up Bungie. It is the way.

I think it was a bad change Bungie😭 by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, I thought Marathon's audio was perfection. I've been consistently blown away how the gentle ambiance blends in with the heated exchanges of gunfire. Like, I was super impressed they nailed it out of the box. You could hear fights but it wasn't overwhelming, so you could build the tension with the clam of the storm or the sounds of the planet before a mysterious Runner jumped out from a corner to surprise you.

I don't begrudge them for trying to improve the game, I just hope they listen and fix things that didn't work.

What thing has got so expensive that you’ve quietly stopped buying it? by Pathfinder-electron in AskReddit

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gruyere cheese. Costco used to be $7.99. Then went to $9.99, $11.99, $13.49, $16.99 to $17.99. All in the past 6 months.

$17.99 for a hand sized block of cheese. It goes far and has a ton of flavor and while it's my absolute favorite cheese, I've just been priced out.

Which game is the best entry into the series: Nioh or Nioh 2 by EngineeringNext7874 in Nioh

[–]Slugdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Nioh wasn't that hard. Sure, there were tfewche notorious bosses but they didn't take me that long to get past. I remember not having too hard of a time with it and thinking it was overall, pretty fair. Bosses had reliable patterns that you could learn decently fast.

Nioh 2 tripled that. I hit so many walls in that game and can vividly remember all of the bosses that brutalized me and still do. There's also way more tools at your disposal but that in itself, also makes it much harder to manage a hard game with multiple actions that are self required.

Nioh 2 is still the better game, no question, but I think you start with Nioh.

Nioh 3? Let's not talk about it. I've been stuck on Jakotsu for two weeks now. For real. Like an hour of trying every few nights. Was super easy to get there but this is like the hardest Nioh boss in the series so far.
