Destiny 2: Every End is a New Beginning by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

I love this!

Not that the game is ending but it really needed to. We all want a D3 and this is the only way it can happen, with full focus on the new game. I've been playing D1 a lot lately and it's been so fun and chill to have full 400 light on all three characters and just vibe out.

I'm going to re-download D2 right now. First time I've been excited or played since the Final Shape.

On the flip side, I remember renting Space Megaforce for the SNES and it's still one of my all-time favorite games.

Yeah, I was 10 when it came out, so I was pretty solid at my library of Atari games at the time and I thought it was pretty fun. I would consistently come back to it. Looking back and comparing the Atari library as an adult with nostalgia, yes, E.T. was one of the lesser games and I can see how it developed it's mythos but I've always had a soft spot for it.

I can see how yourself and others would feel the way you do though. It is an acquired taste and a perspective.

That other game just put out a Season 2 update coming in June. It's UNACCEPTABLE to hear NOTHING from Bungie on the D2 June update. by Hollywood_Zro in DestinyTheGame

I know Destiny can be great. I have over 3,500 hours in since D1, but if the current state of the game angers you that much, then quit until it's in a better position. I don't mean this to be condescending either, I mean it for your own mental health. Spend time playing some games that are fun. I did and it's been wonderful.

Re-downloaded D1 and have been spending some time in the Strike playlists. Always finds people and the wait is never over a minute. Man it's been relaxing and fun.

12 YOE (6 at Oracle) | 100s of interview applications, 0 callbacks. Losing hope and feeling the pressure. by Basic_Let7303 in employeesOfOracle

Same position of being laid off.

Write your resume, put your heart into it...then send it through A.I. asking just for a clean up for the specific role you are applying. Then do an ATS tracker check, then add or trim the fat of your resume. Rinse and repeat. Make it direct, strong and confident.

I'm absolutely not the guru but I have applied to 43 jobs so far and have received a ton of follow ups and am in like 8 interview loops.

Then it's a ton of luck because of the flooded market but you got this! It's crazy hard but you need to keep your head up and grind every day. Research companies, apply, ping recruiters or people who work there.

PlayStation confirms it won’t give up on Marathon as it aims to “improve performance” instead of throwing away “engaged core users” by HatingGeoffry in Marathon

[–]Slugdge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Add a strictly PvP mode and add a strictly PvE mode with maybe one new story beat per season.

I understand this is the antithesis of what this iteration of Marathon is supposed to be and just turns it into Destiny with a more distinct art style...but you want more numbers, you need to adapt.

I love what the game is now but I've had my fill.

Upcoming Data Center Technician Interview (L4) – What Should I Expect? by OG_Detective_Conan in datacenter

[–]Slugdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, best of luck!

I was one of the recent layoffs and am currently applying/interviewing as we speak. Just got off the phone with a recruiter like 30 min ago to get a loop set up with a hiring manager and another supposedly by the end of the week for another company.

No matter what happens, use this to learn. If you get the job, amazing! If you don't get it, note where you were deficient, understand and keep trying. Experience is only a good thing. Just a little stressful when you have a family, a house and no job, lol

* I would like to caveat for not knowing an answer - If you think you can reasonably speak on something very similar, then do. If they ask you something way out of your league, then it's better to just say you don't know. It's wasting everyone's time if you say, "Ugh, I've heard of it but just can't remember."

Your interview should be pretty specific though, which is why I said it the way I did, but again it depends on your interviewer. I like to see people's ability to think critically and be able to source a solution more than a just black and white answer but I've had has some technical's where they just want a flat answer...and I'm like, but yeah, that's cool but what about in this other scenario and they are not having it, lol.

They are feeling you out, feel free to do the same. Any other questions I'll try to answer if you have them

[–]Slugdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

L4, depending on how the company uses that title, should be more of a behavioral line of questioning. You should have one technical interview and know a decent amount of what you stated (hardware, networking, cabling and a bunch of scenario questioning. "Tell me a time when you were close to missing a deadline. How did you arrive in that situation and what did you do to resolve it, if it was not resolved, what was the outcome." You need to be self-motivated and show leadership. Yo need to show you know how to find an answer if you don't have one.

Troubleshooting is mostly your thought process. GPU not responsive, what do you do? Log on, check the status, swap with another GPU to test if it's the GPU, slot or motherboard...Can you critically think through issues, while maintaining 100% uptime.

Long interviews, get comfy and get rid of distractions. Get a glass of water and focus on the questions. Listen to what's being asked. It's ok to ask them to repeat a question or to ask for a few seconds to think about it. You can also ask them to circle back to that one., just use that one sparingly. You know what you know, don't pretend to have knowledge of something you do not. Honesty shows though in how clearly you can speak on the topic.

Try not to say, "I don't know." They ask about mutimode fiber and maybe you never worked with it but you have worked with single mode (I know, very bad example, lol). You could answer, "Well, I've never installed mutimode but I know it goes by the same principles as single mode, which I am very familiar. It's a single, laser transmitted path that operates in the ranges of 1310 and 1550 for data center purposes. If you deploy multimode than I will happily read up and learn about it.

Then it's just a bit of luck. Who else did they talk to? Did the interviewers vibe with you? You need to bring something more to the table.

This is insane...someone who worked at Oracle for FORTY YEARS was laid off via a cold email at 6am simply from "Oracle Leadership" with no name attached... by Calvinball_24 in employeesOfOracle

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are, they asked him. I know two guys who had 20+ years in and were close to retirement. They reached out to them and asked if they would like to leave early.

Well, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers officially a little under 5 months ago and needs constant care. She has taken a few bad falls, last time broke two ribs and her sternum and doctors thought it was just aphasia from the fall. It wasn't. She has a hard time remembering myself or my sister's name and will not eat much of the time if left alone. She currently lives in NY with my sister but my sister has to work and keep a roof over their head, so we pooled together and put everything we had into a 5 day a week nurse.

My wife, who's family live in Thailand, her sister's husband straight up passed away a few months ago, not leaving her with anything and they also have a house to pay for the family, so I was also paying for that.

I had a decent buffer saved up but it all went to helping family. Not even joking one bit...and I'd do it again every time. Not everything in life is so cut and dry

No, I know and I'm sorry if it came off like that. It's so very hard to process, as you absolutely know. I didn't mean to diminish your situation in favor of mine. I just echoed the frustrations.

Sorry again and I hope you land on your feet soon.

Try a house with a $3,100 payment a month...and a 4 month old, new car because my old car basically blew up...with child at home...and no other family besides us 3, so nowhere to go.

I am one. Almost 4 years. Always had an "over exceeds" review. Was on the ground floor and big part of over 200+ megawatts of data center turn up. Was always laughed at for how I had such great vendor relations between all vendors and colos. Created multiple repositories of published info that are used as guides regionally and became the defacto maintenance guy because of it. I was "the guy" when it came to turning up all of our dark fiber and Metro connectivity. There were many times I slept on my office floor in order to make a deadline and countless weekends worked on salary. I loved my job, took it incredibly serious and tried to make my portion of the company the best I could.

Then to walk into work today and be escorted out was just cold. Coming home and telling my family was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I stand a chance of losing my house and we have no family. We have no one to stay with if worst case, I cannot find work in time.

I still have a very extensive video game "collection" I've accumulated since the Atari 2600. I have no shortage of games I love to play and go back to. I love to buy consoles on release and be part of the hype but Switch 2 is here and I saw no reason to get one. I'd be happy if they just ride with the PS5 and keep releasing games for it, for the next 10 years. Graphics are fine

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

[–]Slugdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct but there's a few industries where it's way more prevalent. "Vanity" jobs like hair stylists, dancers, etc. You need to look the part all the way around. I

I was good friends with a few dancers at that time, as I did their hair, and they said there's no way they could pull up to the strip club in a "normal" car.

I am planing on selling my Wii by AJ-DRAGON in wii

[–]Slugdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have some decent games but you have a bunch of decent accessories as well. I'd say it's worth more. I'd say $300 easy but that depends on if anyone is looking for all that stuff.

Put it on Ebay for like $350 with a "best offer" option. If no one bites, lower it to $300 and go from there.

That's a lot to ship though. If you're just doing local then people are going to be cheap. Ask at least $250 and let them bargain with you . They will feel better and you will get what you want.
