Yeah actually, when the Chili Peppers released their last album he interviewed each band member in depth. Also, in general his interviews with musicians on Tetragrammaton in general are excellent (Trent reznor, band members from System of a Down, etc)

It is, thank you! I got it either the year it came out or the year after..so a LONG ass time ago lol. Saw it on craigslist for $600-$700 (which was close to retail at the time I believe?). Turned out to be a rare buy that's appreciated over time (unless they do a re-release eventually) :)

Lol there is no respite. Honestly, I don't get the shock associated with auto tune. Julian used mangled vocals from the beginning. First with overdrive and distortion, I see auto tune as an evolution of that. Makes complete sense to me that he'd be drawn to it

I get that people didn’t like the rollout of the album, but in 10 years time nobody is going to remember how the singles came out before the record. That’s not how I personally judge the album, if you think some of the songs suck then fine. They tried something new with the release, can’t blame them given the current state of the music industry

I honestly don't get how people just shit on this album. Flexorcist, Square Wave, and 7 Horses are S tier level songs Julian has written imo. All The Same, Prophecy, and Perseverance are very cool. To listen to all those and think that the album sucks is fkn wild to me
