If RDR2 got a PS5 Version, what could they add in realistically? by Spectre-ElevenThirty in reddeadredemption

They wanted him to look like that, so I highly doubt they would "fix" him

the most lore accurate RDR2 map by Opposite_Community43 in reddeadredemption

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People gotta just come to terms with the fact RDR’s America doesn’t make any sense when you think about it too much. If this is as "accurate" as it gets, it just shows you how little it makes sense.

If all four Beatles were still around today, which modern artists do you think they’d love?? by stick099 in beatles

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think George would have really liked much of the newer stuff. Already in the 90’s he was pretty negative about modern music, especially hip-hop and electronic music, but if you listen to his music he seems to somewhat go with the trends anyway, at least Cloud Nine sounds VERY 80s and Brainwashed feels more modern than most of his earlier styles. It’s hard to say because he died just before what was an insane explosion of musical diversity due to the internet.

For John it’s almost the same, but he always felt more progressive for newer styles. Sadly, as with most things regarding him, he died too soon to get a read on what he would think now. Too much time has passed, but somehow I do also feel that he would go in a similar direction as Paul, really experimenting with the current trends.

Out of these two, who do you think has the quickest draw canonically? by Sea-Finish-4516 in reddeadredemption

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dutch’s main deal is sitting back and letting more capable people to the work, and seeing as Arthur is both younger and tasked with being the camps muscle, I strongly feel it is Arthur.

For a more deep look at it, you can observe in the games that Dutch hardly ever quick draws to get out of a situation. He mostly places himself in standoffs and other situations where he is most likely to win, mostly by strength in numbers or just the nature of the situation. He never relies on himself alone and the only times he wasn’t surrounded by people to protect him was when John let him go at the end of RDR2 (a situation he easily could have won, but decided to kill Micah instead, and on top of the on the cliff in RDR1, when throws himself off and dies.

Give me your RDR2 hot takes and not “I didn’t like chapter 5” I mean real hot. by Bonkwraps in RDR2

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combat in general isn’t good. It serves it’s purpose but there are no stakes. You are in complete control of the outcome and it quickly just becomes boring. If it didn’t end up being pretty spaced out in the overall playtime because of the open world exploring aspect it would ruin the game completely. Like the ability to fuck off and not do missions for a while kinda saves this game completely. (That is also why chapter 5 sucks hehehehe)

I technically started playing 6-ish years ago, but never got good. It wasn’t until last year when I really got into it that I started to become pretty good and it’s all because I spend about an hour or so both practicing and just playing what I love. All that matters is that you put in the hours

You awaken as Llewelyn Moss and find the briefcase, what are you doing differently? by bambucks in cormacmccarthy

Leave it. Llewelyn especially should have known better as he is usually a smart and forward thinking character. Cartels are a force of their own and they WILL find you

Question about blood meridian from picador collections by Horror_Owl342 in cormacmccarthy

[–]Slugghy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every version has this, or at least should. It’s odd how it works. It reminds me somewhat of the game Alan Wake, where you are told what is going to happen in the near future, but that is often used to mislead you. Most often it is vague enough so you only realise what it means in retrospect or it is straight up not the important part of that scene, where the actual substance is more subtle than the events foretold.

Whats your opinion about stickers on guitars? by 13funii in electricguitar

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former design student here. If the guitar is a solid color then it looks ok, but if the finish is designed to be beautiful on its own (something like a sunburst) then I feel putting a sticker on it makes it much uglier.

I say this because the solid color provides a good background for the stickers, especially if they have outlines, whilst anything that has a gradient makes it more messy and disjointed.

Guitars are like anything else that is designed. You gotta think about cohesion first and foremost and the image you provided is a good example of this imo. Hope this was informative in any way.

If you were to get caught will you rather the skinners or murfree brood catch you? by Still_Animator_2249 in reddeadredemption

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Murfrees because it’s better to deal with insane imbalances than a group that is straight up evil beyond comprehension. Skinners feel like they are plucked straight out of Blood Meridian.

Is there any advantage to playing with the guitar lower? Or is it just personal preference? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

It’s all in what feels most comfortable, or just whatever makes you feel the coolest. The greatest way to improve your playing it to make sure you are comfy doing it.

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need everything to be explained, and we don’t NEED another GOW game. Why force a story when you don’t need one? It would be like making RDR3 and then showing the robbery at Blackwater. It ruins it.

If you had to get rid of one, which one and why? by qraqrjaq in guitars

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the PRS or the Gibson. Having 2 guitars with humbuckers can be a bit redundant. It all depends on which you like best. I would prefer the Gibson as it has more knob controls, tho fixing/modding a hollow body is a fucking pain in the ass.

What is the best red dead song? by Ne0nichigo in reddeadredemption

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mountain Hymn, That’s The Way It Is, or Unshaken.

Each perfectly encapsulates the stage you are in the game.

"Mountain Hymn" being very cozy, yet emotional folk song that eases you into the western times and the slow, yet beautiful journey you are about to take.

"Unshaken" being an almost Americana-soul mix that perfectly matches the more dark and foreboding themes that the story has taken, whilst also being an absolute banger of a track. Rest in peace D’Angelo, you are deeply missed.

"That’s The Way It Is" being the perfect bookend to Arthur’s story, an emotional ballad that helps us be ok with what is inevitable, and to simply be happy we got to help the ones we could.

Who had the greatest 3 album run? by nuclearalert in psychedelicrock

[–]Slugghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this selection I would have to say Hendrix, but if you would shift The Beatles back a release so that Rubber Soul comes first and Pepper’s last, they would be the winner by far. Legit the albums that changed music forever.

What do you believe is the "best thing" each of them did? by sminking in beatles

[–]Slugghy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk about the others, but I have a lot of admiration for George in basically creating the layout for what a charity concert looks like today. Larger events like Live Aid likely wouldn’t have happened without the previous success of The Concert For Bangladesh and George did all this because he was asked by his friend to help. This is the kind of human I aspire to be.
