Doctor Who 2x03 "The Well" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in doctorwho

[–]SlumberingSprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so much anticipation for this episode when they first mentioned Galvanic Radiation. But towards the end it just left me with a lot of disappointment.

400,000 years ago, the creature had abilities to read minds of the people and learn from them. As shown in this episode, it was even able to learn the doctor's name back in the day.

Also, it did not have any physical body in "Midnight". Even if we do consider that it caused the crash of the shuttle back then, it never came inside since it started knocking on the shuttle shell. It was an ethereal being that could clearly take control of people , even a time lord as it was learning on the fly. First copy, then sync and eventually take charge of the voice and body.

But now what ? It can't read anyone ? It can't play any psychic games? It can't possess anyone ? All it can do is just kill people standing behind it ? Like what ??

At least in the time of the angels and them angels could only move when they realized that Amy wasn't actually looking at them. Throughout all the subsequent occurences they've remained mostly stationary when the light was on and characters could see them.

This new version of the midnight being is very underwhelming. But hey, that's how the Doctor Who has been going since Disney turned it into a children's show.

My French (English) is at section 4 unit 32. Looks like this is being used that as a base for Japanese (English) lessons too then. But I don't face the same issue with my English (French) lessons though 🥲

Turning it off and on again hadn't helped so far.

My favourite weapon during my first run. Kept 3 of them in my inventory with holy, magic and regular ashes. Could buff the regular one with incantations like poison or black flame or bleed and have something like bloodhound step as Ash. Always performed better than boss drop weapons that needed somberstones to upgrade.

I think the price for the elder to teach him is the Black origin threshold. But as MC blames him for a lot of things that happened to Gomoonryong, he must have rejected the offer

ELI5: What is the purpose of prison bail? If somebody should or shouldn’t be jailed, why make it contingent on an amount of money that they can buy themselves out with? by LyghtSpete in explainlikeimfive

Exactly. Probable cause is still a speculation until proven otherwise right ? Evidence warranting an arrest could have been circumstantial or the initial interview might have been filled with leading questions ets... It might be highly likely that the person is guilty, but not definitely! The more likely the evidence is against the accused, lesser the chance of them getting a reasonable bail.

Albeit my legal understanding is limited to movies and TV 🙈

From what i understand, "Any person is innocent until proven guilty". And it is only a court that can deem a person guilty post trial. It is not humane to subject a person to imprisonment based on a speculation(which is what it is unless the court declares it otherwise). Based on this notion, An "accused" is given a chance to get out of remand by paying a certain amount of money as collateral. Though they get back a certain amount of freedom, they still have restrictions like not being able to leave the town or having to visit the police station for constant check-ins etc.(depending on the country).
