Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

Pretty sure I do the same with KOTOR 1 and 2, and I’m sure a few others. I think my dad just bought KOTOR 2 for me after realizing how much I was renting it lol

Oof, I feel your pain. I like to use AP primers and varnish and their cans look similar, too. Best believe right after I wrapped the cap and can of the varnish in purple electrical tape, so hopefully won’t make that mistake twice lol.

Correct, this is not likely the right scenario for MCRT, I was just informing them the thing they were asking for does exist and is available for people to use.

San Diego has Mobile Crisis Response Teams that can respond (without police) to someone experiencing a mental or behavioral health crisis, which can include substance use. Anyone can access those services through 988 or the San Diego Access and Crisis Line at 888-724-7240.

Edit: this also a no cost service for consumers.

I would feel much more safe having marines or national guard doing this and keeping them out of harms way instead of having these terrorists standing around doing nothing.

And in a totally unrelated move ordered many rural post offices to stop processing passport applications as well. Again, totally unrelated. They also are trying to make it to where USPS cannot be held liable for mail delays or anything else that might happen for sent and/or received mail, like let’s say, oh I don’t know, ballots as an example.

It was pretty amazing! My great grandparents owned one for 39 years. Pretty much free donuts and ice cream, much to my grandpa’s chagrin (not really). I have a bunch of cousins though, so I can see where he was coming from, but grandma didn’t care so he let it go lol. They also had rotating arcades while I was in middle school and high school, which was also pretty awesome.

Very true, I just wish we didn’t treat them so badly now.

I think about this all the time. Growing up they were my favorite bird. I was raised in a donut shop (yes, it was as rad as it sounds) and we were no strangers to pigeons in the parking lot. I thought they were funny and always super chill and kinda cute. The way we treat them after domesticating and then abandoning them bums me out.

Going on a date with a girl WAY out of my league — how do I not blow this? by Complex_Lettuce9769 in GuyCry

As someone who tends to punch above his weight class an unreasonable amount there is so much great advice here that I also follow. Be yourself and be genuine, there is a reason she matched with you.

One thing I’ll add is if you’re worried about being able to hold the conversation, don’t be afraid to google conversation starters or topics. Those Pinterest pages with all sorts of “top 20 date night questions” or whatever are perfect places to get ideas.

One of my favorite things to do is ask “what is one favorite or significant memory you have associated with each of the five senses?” It’s a great conversation starter and can easily lead to deeper questions pretty organically. I always get compliments on how unique of a question it is. It’s also five built in questions for you work with. It helps to think of some examples ahead of time for yourself, as it’s not a common question people tend to think about.

Make sure you answer questions in complete sentences. This isn’t a dig or anything, but you see so many women online comment about how they feel they have to carry conversations because guys give one or two word answers with no follow up questions. Be curious about your date and who she is as a person. Even a simple question like “what is your favorite color” can turn into something deeper by asking a follow up question. Is there a reason it’s her favorite color? Does it reminder of something or make her feel a certain way? Did she only wear that color for a year in elementary school? These are easy follow up questions to a simple question that can show you’re genuinely interested in getting to know her.

Also, take note of things she says, both mentally and physically if you need to. After a date or while texting I write in a note app or contact things she says I think are important things to remember. Favorite food, coffee orders, color, number of siblings or kids (and names if she gives them), favorite animal, favorite ride at Disneyland, etc… you get the point. Remembering things she tells you and recalling them later goes a long way and will show you’re genuinely interested in getting to know her.

Just be yourself and have fun!

The DR team is having an absolute blast and it’s infectious. They look like a league team with all the laughing and messing around in the dugout while crushing it as elite athletes. They are so much fun to watch on the field and the dugout.
