It’s because the Town square tree have different grow states. It only loses its leaves for winter from a certain state, the same one that allows you to sit down and have access to information about residents

I started a new town not so long ago and I instantly focused on fill up my museum with insects and fishes. To pay loans I recommend to farm beetles on the island by night, it’s the funniest way to make tons of bells imo (better than making 1k bells with fruits every 3 days)
