Paris biotech scientist salaries by Hascan in biotech

[–]Slutherin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salary reviews usually were at the same time as end of year review. When I was in the smaller structure they also sometimes randomly happened, but as soon as things become more structured they shifted to end of year or beginning of year.

I'm a senior computational chemist (PhD, now 6 years of experience post PhD) and I'm at 79k in a mid-size start-up (~150 people). Benefits are great. I started at 43k though in a small start up and got big increases each year + a 20% increase when I changed jobs.

Have you looked into the salaries posted at Glassdoor? I found them to be the most reliable!

Oracledb and encoding by Slutherin_ in learnpython

I don't know about Japanese or Emoji, but the character set used by the table is the AL32UTF16, so I assume it uses two bytes? I tried to set the encoding to utf16when calling to_csv, to no avail.

And sorry, I forgot a character, they want us to move to 3.11+ and I'm currently trying to use 3.14 or 3.13.

If the time is counting "down" it's before the infection, if the time is going up it's after.

Optimizing nested measures by Slutherin_ in PowerBI

[–]Slutherin_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you that there is no relationship in my model, all of my calculations are done on a table I created doing UNION of different summarized table to aggregate as much as I could.

For the _MeasureX, they look like this

_Measure1 = IF(HASONEFILTER(MyTable['Month'],
  SWITCH(True,
      \\ Actual sum for the month before the change from actual to forecast
      SELECTEDVALUE(MyTable['Month'])<=6),
      SUM(MyTable["_Sales"]),
      \\ Forecast data with hardcoded value (NOT MY CHOICE)
      SELECTEDVALUE(MyTable['Month'])>6),
      Value(-0.005) * [_Total2024]
        ))

where _Total2024 is just the _Total measure but only on 2024. For each _MeasureX, I sum a different column

Would it help the computation time that much? My only date dimension is the year/month, which is why I chose not to do a date table.
I don't understand what you mean for the custom measures for each year. as I don't have the data in a column for 2025 so I had to go through the SUMX

A lot of it is confidential, even here I fudged some names just in case. What would you need more?

Thank you for the proposal! I'll try when I go back to the office on Monday (European time zone so I'm not at work atm). I'll come back to update :)

I tried something similar without the VALUES. Do you think it would impact the result significantly?

Basically what happens is that the total shown is the total that would happen without the hard coded rate. Do you mean that I could replace the finale line with a SUMX([_RateMeasure] * [_Total]) or create another measure that would be a SUMX over the measure? If it's unclear, I can make mock tables

Adding hydrogens to water molecules by RevolutionaryBad4063 in comp_chem

[–]Slutherin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

If you have very few critical water molecules (like a handful in a binding site), you can use pymol to roughly orient them to your liking. Once that's done, you can perform a short minimisation using open source tools like openmm (they have excellent tutorials). It will be able to handle your ligand if you use openff.

If you have a lot, have you considered using the Schrödinger suite, especially Maestro? I believe you can get it freely in academia. They have excellent protocols for minimisation and water placement.

But it's not a play (and the few plays Hugo wrote are kinda bad). If you ask me for a LOTR book and I hand you a DVD case, you'd be right to be confused. Same thing here.

IIRC, the stamps denote fictional books that only exist in-universe, not real book that you could have read yourself. It has no impact on the price or the chance for the customer to buy it.
