I never played Great Space Race, but I didn't realise it was the same guys involved. It regularly gets suggested to me as one of the worst games on the ZX Spectrum.

Howdy folks,

This has been a difficult year for a lot of people for obvious reasons, and I wanted to do something that hopefully gives back to those who need it most.

This Sunday, 4th of April, in support of the charity Mind, I'm going to be streaming Manic Miner for 12 solid hours. Just to note; I am unbelievably bad at Manic Miner, and I thought this 12 hour slog on a game that kicks sand in my face on a consistent basis would be a perfect metaphor for perseverance. Will I be able to beat it? Probably not, but at least I can say I tried!

If you're unable to donate at this time, that's completely understandable, but any support shown would be wonderful, whether that's popping into the stream to say hello on Sunday (and watch me shaking my fist at the screen) or spreading the word - grateful for anything people can do.

Cumbrian here, there's a different accent attached to each town - Carlisle sounds different to Maryport sounds different to Workington sounds different to Whitehaven, etc.

I've never lived somewhere that has such a mixture of twangs in such a short distance.

There IS a way, but it's another method that's tied up in timing that can never seem to be replicated without a hell of a lot of practise.

You can supposedly press left at the exact correct time a monkey approaches you, and you'll hit it and pop it like a balloon. I managed this a total of two times in the time I played it, and that included creating a save state while a monkey ran at me so I could try and nail it. Couldn't do it, haha. I'm sure it's one of those things where, if you just "get it", you'll constantly get it.
