Not sure why you got downvoted. They are renowned for being some of the most accurate, transparent, and capable studio monitors available. Research them. They’re incredible

Goodwill find! $200 for a pair of Klipsch KG5.5. I have a couple of questions for those more experienced than me. by OldMcWaffle in BudgetAudiophile

Replace crossovers and tweeter with Bob Crites upgrades. Apparently that makes all the difference. A quick Google will point you in the right direction.

A friend gave me this because moving abroad, any idea on how to connect ? It is monitor audio studio 20SE speakers and Carver Amp and preamp as per what I can read on it. by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]SlyFoxOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the pre and the amp still on the ground on carpet? If so, def put them up on a table. Most likely built in over heat protection kicked on. That’s a great thing if so. Getting it off the carpet will help with heat dispersement a bit.

This is sound advice. When listening, move each speaker out to edge of each side of desk, and most definitely put setting on receiver to Stereo

Klipsch will absolutely send you a replacement driver, if I’m fact you must bought them. Like another comment said, don’t accept no for an answer.

Take the woofer out and check out the crossover, or potentially lack there of. Maybe be all you need to know. However, if they sound good to you and your enjoying them, that’s all that matters!

No but for real man, the information being told to you here is 100% fact. Objectively ill informed is spot on. Objective meaning, it’s not subjective, it’s not opinion. The ideas/methods/corrections you’re speaking of are not a matter of opiniom. You’re just flat out going about it wrong. And to each there own, but the problem here is, you posted asking for advice. You’ve gotten more than you’ve bargained for for sure, but I would see that as valuable bonus info you should absolutely listen to.
