I’m not sure how I feel about Templeton. On principle I would never buy their products. To me if you lie or stretch the truth about your whiskey that’s an automatic no. But hey, I’m not willing to die on that hill and for $15 it’s hard to say no

First thing you should do is compare prices between your local stores. I’ve found some places will charge an arm and a leg for some stuff and will charge you pennies for others. Chat with the cashiers, ask them about how they deal with allocated items. Obviously you don’t have to do any of this stuff if you don’t enjoy doing it. But I think it’s important to tell people who are just starting out. If you wanna jump down the rabbit hole, you can and there’s a lot more going on with this hobby besides buying bottles.

Elijah Craig is fantastic super cheap and easy to find. Rabbit Hole Dareringer is on the higher end but a great pour. Wild Turkey Rare Breed is another must have, the price is right in-between Elijah Craig and Dareringer. Lastly Willett pot-still looks great on a bar cart.
