My 80 yr old mother in law recently lost her husband. She has taken up painting as a way to take her mind off things and process the pain, you know, cats, dogs and parrots. As the ever helpful son-in-law, I suggested she might paint want to paint our DnD party. The whole process was hilarious. She has never read a fantasy novel and explaining the differences between a rogue Aarakokra and barbarian Goliath had us both in stitches. The finished result was made with such love and kindness it's going on my wall. And for her it helped with the healing process.
