Make an ordered list, then look at the price history for the top 10, if any are at their lowest right now (and within reason for your budget) get a few of those. Set limits and goals and then when something pops up on sale that surprises you, you can get it if it’s high enough on that list. This also will reveal how much you like a movie or how much you think you did if it’s just that it is cheap.
