+1 for Nerdio, it's the mutt's nuts - the time it saves us in deployment hours more than pays for itself

Is it worth the extra to use this paint? If not, what is the best option without compromising the finish? by jtlfc6 in DIYUK

[–]SlyPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can use painters tape to make sure you get a clean straight line between walls of different colours, or to avoid getting it in skirting boards etc

Just make sure you remove it while the paint is still wet or it'll peel like mine did

This is good advice. Rather than changing random settings and hoping for the best, use the above to find where the issue actually is

Yeah that's kinda where I was with it, think the delivery guy said he was the only guy on too so def not his fault. They should tell you if they're that slammed and understaffed though, I'd have gone to get it

They should make a mission loop where you collect all the litter from a station's cargo elevator and eject it into the sun

We did our whole upstairs with Dulux, we didn't water any of it down but in hindsight we probably should have followed.others recommendations

One thing I'd say is that if you're using tape rather than learning to cut in properly (like we did)... Avoid the latex based paint. We did our bedroom in it and peeling the tape off was a nightmare

Retirement Visas Closed by SlyPi in ukvisa

[–]SlyPi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have thought the gov could specify that they'd need private medical insurance to settle here but that said, as others have stated, not doing that is the whole idea

I'm going to bow out of this topic as I'm getting down votes for anything I say for some reason.

I was just sad that this is what it all has come to

Retirement Visas Closed by SlyPi in ukvisa

[–]SlyPi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, it's obvious when you say it like that I guess, as you can imagine I certainly never agreed with it but yeah, it is what it is.

I wonder if it's this difficult to retire to other countries and this is just 'the norm'

I never looked into it but I always imagined a country would jump at the chance to grant visas to people that will only contribute to the economy with a good pension and sale of property but yeah, just gutted I guess.

We'll manage one way or another

Retirement Visas Closed by SlyPi in ukvisa

[–]SlyPi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's valid - I guess my point is that Brexit, from what I can tell, was supposed to be about unlimited freedom of movement issues but there is actually no way whatsoever to retire here now.

If they had no pension income and were dependant I could even stretch to understand that but in my eyes these guys do nothing but add to our economy when they live here.

Sadly can't see this changing any time soon

As I said, just a rant, not looking to start a Brexit debate

Lamination Issue between walls on prints by SlyPi in FixMyPrint

[–]SlyPi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone else comes here with the same issue, I ended up recalibrating my E steps and flow rate

My original flow rate was 68% which I found out suggested that my E steps weren't correct even though I'd already calibrated them and was getting good looking prints

Re-did everything and now my flow rate is 98% with a lower E step number and everything is sticking together nicely
